  1. I've had an 11-25, currently have a SRAM 11-26 on my trainnig wheels and have just got an 11-27 for some serious climbs in the Ardennes. You even get an 11-28![/quote'] I also have the SRAM 11-26.
  2. No Face Plant! WAS!!!
  3. Find what rhythm works for you. It make be at a higher cadence or lower cadence. Get on your bike and ride. Don't look at the cadence you do. Ride for comfort and look at the cadence afterwards.
  4. Go for the 11-25. That will be fine for you.
  5. The A380 has been to OR Tambo before on a test flight. If I remember correctly it is one of the few runways which is long enough for it.
  6. Looks good!!
  7. I have used full SRAM Red since June 2009. Never had any issue. No need to swap it. It works perfectly! So what if it is a bit noisy. It is not really that much noisy.
  8. You must get really tired jumping to all those conclusions - perhaps you should read the thread of the article - it's a Di2 gruppo that some dude has modified to fit on a mtb - not a Shimano sanctioned product at all... Di2 AND a fantastic mountain bike gruppo versus adding ONE extra gear to their groupset - I'd have to say 2-0 to Shimano. The only Campy design worth anything is the quick release! Maybe one should study up the history of bicycling gearing systems and who invent what' date=' before one enters a debate or posts a chirp. most of what we use on road bikes today comes from the Campy designers and copied by the likes of sh*tmano.[/quote'] I used to use Shimano. Now I use SRAM. I have nothing against Campy but just don't like that little level they have sticking out the side of the brake hood. So for me it is a personal preference. But I don't say that Campy is cr@p or bash them. Why do you just simply bash another product? It is like me bashing you just because your name is Marc.
  9. Great photos! Wonder how Passport Control handled all the passengers! And baggage reclaim.
  10. I use accuweather.
  11. You can get a Raleigh for quite good value. What are your goals? Rather look at the groupset than the frame. A bike with SRAM may be a bit cheaper for the same spec level. The Break, you are a Champion Hubber! You should know the Couch Rule by now!!!
  12. Didn't they try something awhile ago with only awarding prize money if they go over a certain speed? Seems like it is a recurring problem. I have been in a few races with A bunch where we have caught the racing ladies.
  13. Do the hill repeats as Swissvan said. Keep doing your gym and weights but finish your work outs with a bit of a ride on the bikes at gym.
  14. I agree Danger Dassie. It is a bit like speaking into a PA system that is unplugged. If you want people to get the message, especially cyclists, then posting on the Hub would be a good way to communicate the message. Similar to sending 1 email to everyone as opposed to phoning and telling each person seperately. At least on the Hub you are accesible to more of the interested parties and your audience.
  15. I guess they BOTH had bummer weekends then. Holy's was a different type of bummer weekend - closer to the literal side I think!Andyr2492010-02-12 04:08:33
  16. Do worry Icycling - some rich European will come buy a place in the Cape for R50 million and the money will come back into SA economy. Then he will sell it to a richer European because no local can afford the R70 million price tag.
  17. Eina! How is the arm doing?
  18. Yeah, I would really hope this weekend is better! Last weekend seemed like a bit of a bummer one for you!
  19. But there is still a mark up! They also have to make money. Every Rand they mark it up is a Rand or more that consumers have to pay.
  20. Glad you bike got repaired!
  21. The problem is that there are too many links in the chain and each link adds on his bit. For example: A buys X from manufacturer at R1 and sells it to B for R2. B sells it to C for R3. You could go on and on making the chain longer and the price higher. If C can buy X from A for R2 then why shouldn't he? He saves R1 and in this example 100%. It could also be a case of trying to sell a few at a higher price rather than more at a slightly lower price. Maybe if the distributors cut their price then the LBS could also and the consumer would pay less. Then more goods could get sold which would ultimately end up with more money for the LBS and distributor.
  22. I agree will Edman. Unless you are planning on spending Most of your race in a breakaway, which being your first race probably not, then it doesn't matter which you chose.
  23. What needs to happen is that the LBS needs to start getting stock directly from the manufacturers. That way the middle price increased is cut out and the products in the hands of the consumer will be cheaper. The various LBS' could even do what we are doing but obviously on a larger scale. Look how we club together for CRC orders and then split the costs. Can't LBS A, LBS B and LBS C get together and place and order for certain supplies. Then they order more so the costs would be reduced. Then they just split whatever costs there are.
  24. I bought a new saddle from CRC last year. More than R1k less after SARS' share than a LBS and none of them had stock. I think the problem comes in with distributors. They hike up the prices and in turn the LBS has to. If the LBS' could get their stock directly from the manufacturers then the cost would be much cheaper and we could buy from our LBS'. At the end of the day it is the distributors which win.
  25. Ja, just like the small yappy dogs make much more noise than the big dogs! I know it is difficult but take a deep breath and do something unexpected and friendly like wave or as was mentioned blowing the kiss. Haha. Throw them totally off balance!
