  1. Captain my Captain -- are those tjoepless and what sealant was used?
  2. DAMN!! and it is only Monday Grim week ahead for sure!! Now about who has right of way!
  3. Looking for crowdfunding. Just developed a springloaded baseball bat that would clip in between any of the three joining points of the seat tube, down tube and crossbar.
  4. Spruit warning: Be aware of: DHoles - Stravaholes and now Gluckholes. Use at own risk!
  5. Damn even Comic Sans has been used - where are we with the warning count. Just a bit of fuel - it is easier and quicker to stop going uphill than downhill.
  6. Don't put it in a vice - too much pressure on the patch will damage it's structure. Can use the back of a teaspoon to rub the patch but not too hard - just let the weld cure properly. Tjoepless does not mean no punktures.
  7. No - just some minor re-routes.
  8. Johan which bike do you have now? What kind of riding are you going to do most often? What bike do you want? Too many options today. You CAN get a really good bike for under R10 This kind of thread you post on a Monday morning not a Friday afternoon!
  9. Great - some seriously nice work been done on Canaries Bit wet today - watch the front wheel on the sandstone rocks.

    Baggies

Now if you really want to arrive you get yourself some white lycra's - the best and fastest. Those baggies are what I want but even more so is your OH - a rare find - one that just sommer buys you THREE pairs of baggies and you don't even need them. What else has she bought you?
  11. Praat met die baas Klaas.
  12. Petz your tjoep demnit! Then go tjoepless! If you can't - learn how to. I've come across a number of cyclists who can't patch a tube - rd and mtb.
  13. Leave the water !!
  14. Paraffin tends to leave an oily type residue whereas terps does not. Terps also dries much quicker.
  15. No place for WD40 on a bike either.
  16. Remember Brasso is basically a rubbing-compound.(it does not form a protective layer) Q20 is a top quality product just don't use it on your bike. Wonder how "spray and cook" would work on the lower parts of the frame?
  17. Just check that it is ammonia free - don't think your chain will take kindly to ammonia. I use terps in container that I can shake with the chain in. I re-use the same terps as the dirt settles in a day or so and the clean terps can be decanted.
  18. Make and type!

    Smoove Lube

Label on bottle says "Smoove is extremely durable and one application lasts a whole ride" You figure!!
  20. If you can and you don't you're a .............! Trying to get rid of a wheelsucker costs too much in effort and you end up the loser. Drafting someone who is trying to loose you is the best fun - love it especially if you are twice their age.
  21. As someone posted earlier - stay 160 on the rear and go 180 or 203 on the front on both bikes that way they are inter-changable.
  22. Normal parcel post about R22 and a few days.
  23. And 29ers ...
  24. You mis-read his post. He is not sure what kind of riding he wants to do but seems open to giving a gnarly downhill or singletrack a good go - he needs an all rounder. Says that he lives close to the Drakensberg - HOW are you going to keep him from those. He says "then I decide I like AM or Enduro"
  25. Mountains = dual suspension preferably min of 125mm travel. The Trance is an amazing all round bike and it keeps it's 2nd hand value. The 650b is great. The Trance is also very accommodating and forgiving. Get them to throw in a Giant dropper post from the start. Tip - Ask for the previous year's model the discounts are up to 35% and the frame geometry does not change every year. *NB do not get suckered into the wheel size debate - remember your height does not determine wheel size - the type of riding you do does.
