  1. Saw one group pushing the trolley on the N14 - back wheel was in very bad shape - hope they made it. Lots of respect - must have been boiling in those suits!
  2. Trance X Rider Weight +- 96kg Front: Conti MK 2.2 - 2.6 bar Rear: Conti RK - 2.6 bar Riding - mostly Jhb/Magaliesburg
  3. Yep
  4. We South African's seem to have an affinity for marathon or ultra long distance events - I think it's just part of our dna. I've lived all over the world and it's only here where I've seen such an emphasis on these long distance and/or multi day events for the average person.
  5. I suppose it depends if you're male or female...
  6. I'm in.
  7. Oh - you lucky B*ggar!
  8. I upgraded the stock wheelset on my Trance X2 to the 15mm version of this wheelset (M778) and I love them. They are tubeless out of the box (no tape etc required) and are strong and relatively light (about 1,700grams I think). I am heavy so the strength to weight combo is great. I can install UST tyres with a footpump and no hassles and they have taken a lot of abuse while staying perfectly true. I do know that the hubs need regular maintenance - if not repairs become very expensive. I also like to have a pair of bling and light AM classics but I think the Shimanos do everything as well - just for less money.
  9. Had a set of Nobby Nicks on my bike and really liked the grip/traction but they punctured a lot - with big holes that wouldn't seal. I would imagine the Racing Ralphs would be even more vulnerable. Running Contis now with far fewer issues.
  10. That is the dogs! How do you like the Ardents - never used them but been curious?
  11. This was fantastic last year - very good course and organisation and exceptional beer tent afterwards... Pity I'll be away this year.
  12. Does anyone know if these are convertible to 15mm through-axle?
  13. I would send Assos Int'l an email. At least you can lubricate where you were shafted...
  14. Coenie - this doesn't really resolve the general issue but it might solve your particular problem. If the frame is available in the US, register with myUS.com. This gives you a shipping address in the US (Florida) and they will then ship the item to SA (at pretty reasonable prices). You do have to register with them and pay a fee but it might be worth your while...

    Polar CS500

Thanks for the vitality tip - forgot about that...
  16. The Hei-Hei 2-9 looks sweet! Can't wait to see prices on the framesets...
  17. Tell us how you really feel ...
  18. "It's only in this country where people only own 1 bike to do everything. Hell, you even see MTBs on the road." Yip - that's me in a nutshell. One bike for everything so I'll be doing the 94.7 on my Trance - probably with bar-ends on my Monkeylite riser bar

  20. Beauty - I want one!
  21. This kind of thing drives me crazy. It's price-gouging pure and simple
  22. Stewie - I've never come across this - what make is the car?
  23. I also don't understand why most bike warranties are for the original owner only. If you purchase a car and resell it within the warranty period, the warranty is simply transferred?
  24. Thanks Edwin - the velotrac "pouch" looks like the best option so far...
  25. Apologies for the hijack but does anyone know where I can get a bike mount for a Nokia (E75) - I'd like to use the GPS and sportstracker. Cheers
