  1. Na elke bom wat jy gebruik het is 'n goeie tyd. So twee van daai scoops is genoeg. Skud die wiel, as jy niks vloeistof hoor nie is dit tyd!
  2. R600 for a fox fork
  3. Joe'sealant - R130 Stan's - R220 I went for the Stan's because it states it is NON CORROSIVE... Now I am sure Joe's is too, however, if Stan is willing to put it on his product, I can hold him to it.
  4. chokers? nee dit was sommer plain k@k! En wat my die ergste de hel in maak is dat die werled na ONS verwys as chokers! Let wel, die HELE SA! Nie die SA krieketspan nie, die HELE SA!!! Thanks boys, ek is trots op julle vir daai brandmerk.
  5. I have the same wheelset. After muddy rides, I check/clean the bearings front and rear. Rear wheel I also check the cassette (remove it/clean it) as well as the free hub body - Clean it/grease it if needed. Simple and fast.
  6. UHm, what is a full suspension hardtail?
  7. Sidi shoes with mechanical brakes...Rather look good than be safe? Just yanking your chain a bit... Anyway, did you think of sticking your foot on the rear wheel? I don't know how far you were from the Garsfontein intersection but I would have tried sticking my water bottle between my rear wheel and frame, even a saddlebag...I would have sacrificed my shirt to be eaten by my rear wheel... But jump off? I don't know... This pop's the question: What can you use as a brake?
  8. They change the routes every year man! And how would you know the route if you have never ridden it before?
  9. So you are racing along. Get to the finish in the top 3 - either catagory or overall. But you realise that you did not do the full race distance - lets say the marshall sent you the wrong way so by NO fault of your own you "cheated". Whould you do the right thing and own up? Would you still do it if you were in 100th position?
  10. If you can't fix it with a cable tie, it is broken and needs to be replaced. lefty loosy, righty tighty. When removing your peddals - BACKOFF! (Spanner goes towards the back wheel for removal.) You are only allowed to force anything if it is done on the toilet. If you don't know - ASK (FIND OUT!) Stupidity costs time AND money.
  11. You are not running enough - you go faster by jumping off and running it than trying to ride it.
  12. Oh. I see. But if you want to go slower, why don't you just ride slower. Ok, enough of this - netnou moer iemand my. I would also rather ride with my wife in the Argus, than race alone.
  13. Oh. But if your friend rides in a lower group, he is then slower than you? So don't you then go slower with your friend in his group than what you would in the faster group? I don't get it: You are worried about your time on the one hand but when you chose to start in a slower group it did not matter...
  14. Why don't you just start in the group you were suppose to start in? Just asking, not flaming...
  15. I decided for a different approach this year... I picked a LBS - and even if they screw up I will go back. Thus far it has been working out awsome. Not anly does the shop owner know my name, he knows my wife's name. I told him from the get go, that I want to build up a relationshit with my LBS. I told him why I picked him and I told him that I take cycling seriously - so I want a serious LBS...His staff, can see that I am on a first name bases with their boss...So they get me what I want. Note however, that as of date, they don't touch my bike. Infact, I don't even think they have seen my bike...But I buy ALMOST everything from them and I always get discount. ALWAYS. (PS - no-one else touches my bike either so...) I recently wanted some MTB parts, not only did they order for me, but they also updated me with SMS's as to the state of the order! My ex boss once said to me: You are more willing to bend for a friend...So make friends with your LBS!!!
  16. How the hell do you train 20+ hours a week AND work??? How much do you spend resting? And rest does not mean sleep...
  17. The problem with injuries is that we all want them just to go away. And then when they eventually do, we do little to figure out what caused the injury in the first place. So the injury will repeat itself and so on. With my wife being a physio n'oll, I know what it is like. You go to a physio and you want everything fixed in the first treatment. And if it is not fixed, the physio is k@k. And you go somewhere else. And so on... When I had my knee op, it was the toughest 8 weeks of my life. And I only got the message (STAY OF YOUR FEET DURING THE DAY!) when my wife went to go sleep on the coach - I could not sit still even with crutches...And then at night my leg was just killing me!!! And then I could not sleep... Moral of the story - Yes, you do get bad and good medical staff...But it is what YOU do that matters most. A physio can only do that much - If you don't listen, and it is best to flipping listen 'cause they know what they are on about, you will pay the price and blaim the doctor/physio/you mamma...
  18. So the weight is 7.84kg's.... And the price? Doubt that it will be as low as the weight... And it probably has a rider weight limit...etc. Nice, but useless for me.
  19. What is your budget?
  20. Smaller bar endsfor smaller hands - the Momsens go on the wife's bike. They are too small for me.
  21. Ok, you go ride outside the yellow line - Good luck with that and let me know how it went. I'll stick to the inside - No use in arguing with a 30ton Interlink.
  22. It is not what you do that works, it is how you do it!!!
  23. Hey Swiss, my fiets is gewas!
  24. This is sometimes so typical of the hub... Snotty comments, personal attacks... C'mon, what happened to good old South African hospitality? Here is a damsel in distress - and a top international cyclist... And all some of you can come up with - "It is her own fault..." If this is how true South African cyclists behave, then please wear a shirt that tells me to leave you the hell alone next time you break down on the side of the road and I gladly will!!! Wat te erg is is te erg!!!
  25. Did 2. 2003 - 4h13 2007 - 3h13 on my Raleigh RC3000 which I still have and use!
