Between the cycling 'support' vehicles you speak of and the runners' support vehicles who seem intent on occupying the cycle lane at multiple points and having a fat chat in the road, the cradle is fast becoming a place to avoid at the weekends.

I rode the section from Heron Bridge to Cedar once. Never again. Back road for taxis to Diepsloot. Narrow with no shoulder in places.

Maybe this is a tangent to the general topic? A coupke of points: 1. As there is no required standard for masks, we use an array of masks with differing entrapment performances. 2. It's reasonable to suspect that leakage is considerable particularly when cycling. 3. Is it likely that the required viral load to achieve infection is both small and far less than that achieved with a leaking mask during exercise? IMO yes to both. So aren't we rather fooling ourselves that by cycling with a leaking mask, we are protecting others? Are we not leaving a potent enough trail wherever we cycle?

Not much to it. The MTB trail follows the 30 km cradle road route. Literally within a handful of metres off the road.

Good luck in interpreting the prohibited movement sentence. Movement between districts? Between districts and hot spots etc?

Instead of considering how much a mask may, or may not, reduce aerosol dispersion, how about considering how much is still emitted (particularly when exercising) and how many inoculum doses that may be?

So has anyone resolved the conflict between mask breathability and filterability yet? I'm trying to reconcile entrapment theory, tortuosity and Darcy's law...

Isn't there a conflict between the two approaches of an individual power profile (power from 5 sec to 1 hr as an example) and a standard % reduction of a <1 hr FTP test? Or maybe the profile has a standard shape but is shifted up or down depending on how juiced, sorry, fit you are?
