and no wetsuits? eina just thinking taking a wetsuit off with leghairs could be an eye watering experience sorry for the hi-jack but this makes me think of a time we went diving in capetown.... i was using a dry suit which is notoriously difficult to get on and off because of the tight cuffs. Someone recommended that i use KY jelly on the wrists and ankles to get the suit on and off, i will never forget the look on the cashiers face when i put down the eight tubes of KY jelly she must have thought i was on my way to one hell of a party

convince her to get cleats, you can set most pedals to release really easy and once she gets comfortable she can tighten them to a point where she is happy.... tell her she will never be taken seriously as a cyclist wearing trainers lol or tell her its a fashion no-no maybe that will convince her

although its controversial you may want to ask your Doctor about a beriglobin injection to boost your immune system,(just bear in mind that it costs about R600 a shot) but it may help you to get better sooner. with three weeks to IM you should be done with most of your training anyway so i would take it easy for a week and see how you feel after a week, then get in a couple of brick sessions before tapering for the event. I believe its better going into an event like IM a little undercooked than overtrained anyway so it just may be a blessing in disguise

i am running rocket rons tubeless and they work fine, but you do have to pump them every now and then because they do loose air but that's a common problem with going tubeless

HI Ebenvn, i would also strongly suggest taking a drive to buffelspoort, the water quality there is amazing, the place Wheelsuck is referring to is the island estate, at this time of the year the channels are going to be very busy with speedboats etc so it might be a bit dodgy so for safety reasons my choice would be buffelspoort there you can swim for miles close to the banks which should keep you out of trouble...... just avoid the fishermen they don't take kindly to swimming over their lines GPS co-ordinates for buffelspoort S25 47.034 E27 29.005
