  1. how DARE you produce FACTS and REASON, for goodness sake?
  2. Lol - this is literally the definition of irony. Have you even listened to yourself? For a couple of hundred Ronts this is quite some next level Karen ranting. Go for a ride on your old bib bru and take a breath. There are literally billions of people starving and dying.
  3. I have a phobia for these things. The only 2 people I know who have them have both driven into their garages forgetting that their bikes were on the roof. The consequences were worse than you could imagine. In the one case, the force bent the roof of the car. I wonder how many people have clipped their bikes like this, or even hit tree branches?
  4. the bike will be fine
  5. super nice job
  6. jeez, maybe they just made a mistake? Take a chill pill. I'm not the biggest CL fan, but I'm sure they don't sit around and plan to deceive you with malignant intent while you shop around for cheap bargains?
  7. thanks for all the replies
  8. it depends - how badly do you want to be divorced?
  9. Any recommendations where to drop off kit, equipment and components to go to a good cause in Joburg? I have accumulated a big pile of all manner of cycling paraphernalia - handle bars, old drivetrains, unused and used kit, shoes, grips, gloves - you name it. ALL is it good or great condition which I foolishly thought I would use, redeploy or whatwhat. Time to let this silly notion go, and hopefully benefit others. How/where best to do this to maximise benefit to less fortunate riders?
  10. from the oke who felt corona was "insensitive". irony much? seems 2021 starting off with as much chill as the end of 2020. happy new year to all!!
  11. should call the spca - that is some cruel and inhuman $h1t right there
  12. "If we look at it purely from a numbers perspective: Chit chat accounts for 0.6% of our monthly users and 0.9% of our monthly page views, with 3.5% of total forum users participating in or viewing Chit Chat. Simply put, it's not there to generate page views or revenue" I guess the numbers don't lie, and certainly from a revenue potential point of view. What i am curious about are the following stats: what is the relative volume of comments of the chitchat section, and how does this compare to the volumes in other threads? this will give a sense of the level of engagement, albeit it among a relatively small number of users. My guess is that the chit chat sections are dominated by high volume users, albeit it a relatively small number of users. Also, I am curious about how much these high volume chitchat users post across the rest of the site. My guess is that they likely account for significant volumes of posting across the site in all threads, and who likely add a lot of the texture and community that benefits other users. I think this issue is far more tricky than it appears
  13. i wonder if this thread increased the relative percentage of off-topic comments?
  14. where do you get the permits from?
  15. thats a lot of free-wheeling
  16. too true - and then having to explain why the only pack of bicycle playing cards had 37 cards when the family wanted to play rummy! good times.
  17. last I checked this thread is about bicycle hubs, not weird psychological conditions triggered by motor bikes and cars - no need to get personal
  18. ja, I had some cheesevwith that wine!
  19. we live in a world of perpetual outrage and snowflake sensitivity. Everything seems to make the fee-fees ouchy. go figure
  20. not if its chris king angry bees!!
  21. if you cant beat them why not join them and have some fun rather?
  22. that brought back some cool memories - nice one. Windsurfing in Sandvlei, LAngebaan, Knysna - I never made it into the ocean, was too k@k, but still lots of fun
  23. looks like they've been ridden through road paint. Still, I thinks its quite cool
  24. I am trying to get my hands on a Qhubeka bike for a gift, and they are fresh outta bikes. Ironically components come from the Covid capital Wuhan, and the out-of-hand sale of bikes is suspended for the foreseeable future. Does anyone have one, or know of a corporate/NGO that has any lying around that they are prepared to part with? I will donate the value of a new bike to Qubeka to get my hands on one. Any suggestions welcome
