  2. My very loud Harley still got to a 100 in under 4 seconds life is too short to care what anyone thinks
  3. New shipment landing mid October... hold out for a week or two if you want Leatt.
  4. Same here, either Hope Pro 4 loud (loud but not ridiculous) or dead silent. I wouldn't mind some Onyx hubs, the price is just silly though.
  5. Not this year. Everything is stand alone with no overall winners. From next year points will be awarded for XCC again which will count toward an overall winner for the world cup title.
  6. The original is good... but let's just say the oke has a very creepy relationship with an octopus. The Kreepy version is definitely better though
  7. Brilliant!
  8. MRP Bartlett....
  9. I know in the e-bike class a few guys were dropping their suspension travel by 20 to 30mm to deal with the techy climbing aspect of the stages (not present in "normal" enduro). It could be that the Zeb does not allow riders to get their front end as low as they want it? Just a guess... At first I was also surprised that most people are not running Boxxers or 49s, because with the motor why does weight matter... but then I saw the format and realised that there is actually quite a bit of climbing and techy maneuvering to be done - I'd choose a Levo SL with a 36 or Lyrik at most. EDIT: Reply to Bos' post.
  10. Hahaha the only reason I won't is because there is a 50/50 chance the numbers I was told about is absolute hogwash. And I think it would be quite unfair to share it on a public forum as fact But it's alot...
  11. Concept stores in Pta and the Winelands (the only ones I really have experienced) print money. They are not struggling to survive. Stock shortage isn't really an issue they have often, and if it is it is only for a model or two and for a limited time... If you hear how many Spes e-bikes and Epics are sold in a month you will be bowled over (I won't say the number as fact because what I have heard is not from the horse's mouth).
  12. I remember practicing these for hours every week at school. Not fun haha, but it looks awesome.
  13. Haha I don't blame you for pining after it! After the recent spout of upgrades it is one hell of a bike! I have been riding Aggressors on the rear of my bike for the last 3 years, it is in my opinion the best all round rear tyre if you lean slightly towards the gravity side of things. I consider the Slade to be my trail bike though and did not want to mount my usual DHF on the front for both weight and rolling resistance reasons. After reading here a few people have had good luck with the Aggressor on the front I decided to try it - I am very happy. It rolls fast enough and grips very well on the front, especially in the dry - that said, it will not make it onto the front of my enduro bike. I have also decided to fit an even faster rolling rear tyre - I am dying for a 2.5 or 2.6 Rekon Race or Ikon, but afaik they don't exist, so a 2.6 Rekon will have to do. As for the shape, mounted on 30mm IW rims I find them perfect, not too square, not too round - just they way a tyre is supposed to be if that makes sense. With the cushcore inserted though the sidewalls are definitely pushed out a bit making it appear a bit more bulgy. Not ideal, but I live with it because cushcore is frigin amazing for rim strikes and comfort. I would say 35mm rims are the limit for a 2.5 tyre like the Aggressor. A friend of mine rides 2.5 on 35mm rims, and they are starting too square off too much for my liking.
  14. Massively capable bike, and a very nice build! Here is mine... needs a bit of buffing out though cbecause it is pretty scratched up at the moment! Got a bit of love recently with a bunch of parts from my Enduro bike that got an overhaul. Frame: Large SB Slade Groupo: GX Eagle Fork: MRP Ribbon (140mm) Wheels: Spank Oozy on Hope Pro 4 with CushCore and Maxxis Aggressors (2.5) Brakes: Formula Cura with 203 and 180 rotors Cockpit: Lyne AMP stem with carbon bar, Lyne 170mm dropper and Spez Henge saddle. Finished off with OneUp toolin the steerer and their pump. This bike is awesome...
  15. 8000 calorie ride? Haha my fat ass can do that in 10 hours hahaha I won't get very far though
  16. 93kp/h, Tour Durban, 2006 or 2007 (can't recall). Also youthfully ignorant, but at least on 23mm tyres! But in a very straight line....
  17. I'm having a lekker time on Aggressor front and rear on my trail bike. Good rolling speed and more than enough grip - especially in the dry. I would consider a Rekon for the rear if I was doing longer rides just for more rolling speed. Another alternative is Specialized Eliminator. It rolls much faster than it looks like it would, and is not badly priced either. I have them on the long travel bike because Spez actually carries stock of sizes and casing options.
  18. . Sy het baie mooi uitgekom!
  19. I know you weren't asking me, but... One leg in the UK, one in SA, dangly bits hanging in the salty ocean - Soutie...
  20. You don't buy a long travel Enduro bike if climbing fast matters to you at all. The new Enduro bikes imb comfortably, but not fast. If you want a bike that can climb and descend well look at the new breek of "downcountry bikes" or trail bikes. 120 - 140 travel witj progressive geometry.
  21. A bit late to the reply here.... but thanks guys, appreciate the well wishes! It has definitely has been one hell of an adjustment, mostly good, some bad. And I cannot believe how much help my parents and family have been already - it's a massive blessing to have them close-by. I have still been on the bike, but I have also been on paternity leave so it's been easy so far. Today is back to reality/work, so we will see if I swallow my words. One thing that has changed drastically is my bikehub time, I've found that when I am home I am really there and spending time with my wife and kiddo - no more half distracted posts while I should actually be present. We'll see how long it lasts, hopefully I've formed a good habit!
  22. Those that know, know. Those that don't... well they should go back to golf I guess
  23. That shock is droolworthy!! How's it treating you?
  24. I'd buy a Hyrax in a heartbeat if I was in the market right now. Looks like an awesome do it all bike (albeit leaning a bit to the Enduro side). The geo looks spot on, and Pyga has a reputation for building solid frames. As for the Alu vs Carbon thing, on those sorts of bikes I prefer alu. On an XC bike where weight and stiffness is everything carbon is king. For trail and enduro alu frames are excellent - you do not feel as sorry for them when you throw them on a shuttle or take a tumble in a rock garden. In that category carbon frames are built beefy, so they are nearly as heavy as alu bikes, and sometimes overly stiff and harsh. Both my frames are alu, with lots of carbon bits and pieces on the bike. Personally I think you feel the effects of carbon in wheels more than frames - so that's where I spend money. Just make sure the geo is what you want and don't worry about frame material. Alu will not impress in the parking lot as much as carbon will, but that's hopefully not why you ride bikes. Happy shopping!
  25. Including my travel time to and from trails I spend about 13 hours a week cycling. 2 hours 4 days a week, and a 5 hour day once a weekend. My wife has never had an issue with it, tbh, I can't see why anyone would. I am in a better mood, I am healthier, and she has time to do her thing. Having just had our first kiddo I'll have to cut back a bit, but I am definitely not gonna get by on a ride every now and then. Luckily my wife is quite keen to get on the bike again herself, so that should buy me some extra time in the saddle. Luckily my parents live 10mins away and are jumping to help out with their first grandchild....
