9 hours is one hell of a long time on a bike but like you said if you want more people to enter the Ultra's then by all means, I for one will not ride an Ultra if I am not 100% sure I can finish at least 1hr before the cut off.

If you have a pressfit BB and carbon frame with no aluminium shell in it will wear out the carbon every single time the BB is removed and a new one refitted, it will take a long time but eventually it does have a negative effect

If you enter the Ultra and need 8hrs to finish it then you should not enter the Ultra at all

Exactly my company also compensates us per km traveled whether private or business although much lower than yours which just covers the fuel bill, anycase the company will get a SARS benefit from this so don't think you will get it right with the bike
