  2. how much does it cost nowadays to cycle at Kyalami?
  3. Alot of guys have attitudes on the spruit - too much time driving in JHB traffic has brought the bad habits and aggression...... WOOOOSA!! I promise you wont win a prize or get the red number for most aggressive rider of the day if you JUST REFUSE to move left.... put the rage in the pedal PAL
  4. Hi Guys, Anybody got the Garmin Maps (Road and or MTB) for these courses? I really wanna ride SBR and would love it if i had the maps
  5. Decided to keep my 11-25 on my 35mm wheels for training or flatter races and put the 12-27 on my 20mm wheels for hilly races .....
  6. Yeah i have a STD crank. previous bike had a compact crank - perhaps that is the way to go?
  7. Hi Guys, I currently ride with a 11-25 cassette and want to buy another cassette for my other wheels. I find with 11-25 im always at the top end (easy) gear. So I want to get a 12-27 or perhaps a 12-29 even. This is to help with my climbing and keeping my cadence up a bit. How big of a jump is it? do two extra teeth make any diff or should i go straight to 29? Any help from experience will be appreciated
  8. Way out of my price range..... whats the diff in size 15mm / 10mm or 15mm /12mm ?
  9. Hi guys, I currently ride a trek superfly elite HT. Its a brilliant bike, full carbon all round. It has the std Bontrager RL wheels and am looking at replacing them with either American classics http://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/american-classic-29er-race-ust-wheelset or Easton ea70 XCT http://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/easton-ea70-xct-wheelset Im leaning towards the Eastons (price and look) but are slightly heavier Is it actually worth upgrading? I tend to think the bike i bought is brilliantly specced except the wheels and shock... Any thoughts
  10. Thank you!
  11. What are the seeding events for the 94.7? Is Amashova still one? I missed D2D
  12. Hi Guys, Just wanted to compliment execuhitch for there brilliant service! I bought a new car and needed a towbar for my bike rack, I called and booked appointment for following day at my place - all done in 90 minutes! professional and clean installation later i tried to put my buzzrack onto towbar and it didnt fit.... Called them up and they offered to swap hitch or do what was necessary to get it resolved. I went through to there offices and they had the owner and 3 other people working on it to figure out what the cause was. Turns out it was the buzzrack but they figured it out - they didnt just say it wasnt there problem - they fixed it! If you guys ever need a towbar , I strongly recommend this company http://execuhitch.com/tow-hitches/
  13. Just heard - shocked beyond belief!! RIP
  14. Did Maroon this morning, was great fun! Probably the most challenging route in the 25km range. no problems experienced another than one or two signs not visible (Garmin solved that) and the portion before the road part with the river was not really rideable - but pushing through is also fun saw lots of the old bridges in ruins - big up for getting it sorted so fast. Have one last ride on saturday before i head back home..... Think Red needs another go

  16. Hi guys, I'm staying in umhlanga and I see lots of cyclists riding south on the road next to beach. I have ridden this before but it comes to a dead end. I brought my MTB down so been riding Holla a lot but would be keen to ride on road. Anyone have a route map? Where does one go before dead end?
  17. I have the buzzrack, good low price - but theres a reason for that.... sorry to say. i will give agent 10 points for after sales service. Had issues with mine 3 times now (stripped bolts, straps breaking, plastic breaking. I do use it alot, so perhaps I should have bought the Thule. Also the clamp that holds the bike doesnt work very well - if you over tighten, the bolts strip... under tighten and bye bye bike off the back (had that twice). Now revert to those elastic jobbies to make sure it stays on. Maybe the newer stuff is better....
  18. Yeah, a bit of mud - but very very little.
  19. Rode Purple today - very cool. Awesome section of single track - probably the best so far!
  20. Did red on Sunday, very cool! Did maroon last year, keen to try all of them though ,except black ( that's for the big boys).
  21. Rode Holla blue today... otherroutes were still being restored. Another very good trail... starts out a bit slow and a tough little climb in the first 4km, but atfer that a big jol (especially with some mud and loose sand - made it challenging) Big up to ben for his route advice and after ride chat... Sunday is Red or Purple... cant wait!
  22. Thanks for the info... appreciate it! Gonna do a ride tomorrow AM for the RED again. Downloaded the track just incase... Gonna be an adventure! Def doing bike wash again. They are brilliant. Just wish they had a coffee shop while you wait
  23. Anybody know the state of the Holla tracks? Keen to ride tomorrow..... but with all this rain, may be unridable? Any locals got a report

  25. Rode Holla trails, red long new on Sunday - was great! Other than one instance of no marker, perfect ride. Compliments to the staff, very friendly and helpful and the bike wash is probably the best I've ever experienced - wash, polish, super shiny!! Think I will visit again tomorrow.... If this crazy weather is a bit better
