  1. Dunno what Kanko did but in Brussow's case the rumour has it it's a bit too close to Heynecke's home. But please - PURE speculation.
  2. EVO. EPO not? Unknowingly? Maybe not such a good one.
  3. Top left of the clean girl's picture ...
  4. I've heard rumours it has more to do with off field performance than on field ... Pure speculation, of course.
  5. I'd be more worried about the EVO in the background now that testing happens in my division.
  6. My team from the squad would be: 15 Lambie 14 Aplon 13 Serfontein 12 Ebersohn 11 Habana 10 Steyn 9 Vermaak 8 Alberts 7 Labuschagne 6 Coetzee 5 Du Toit 4 Etzebeth 3 Oosthuizen 2 Strauss (captain) 1 Beast (or Nyakane)
  7. Still no Brussow? I'm starting to think there must be something else at play here (like something of a private/personal nature). Players invited to the second Springbok training camp of 2013: Forwards (19): Tendai Mtawarira, Trevor Nyakane, Jannie du Plessis, Coenie Oosthuizen, Wiehahn Herbst, Adriaan Strauss, Bismarck du Plessis, Chiliboy Ralepelle, Eben Etzebeth, Flip van der Merwe, Juandré Kruger, Pieter-Steph du Toit, Siya Kolisi, Marcell Coetzee, Willem Alberts, Arno Botha, Lappies Labuschagne, Pierre Spies, Ryan Kankowski Backs (19): Jano Vermaak, Francois Hougaard, Pat Lambie, Morné Steyn, Elton Jantjies, Demetri Catrakilis, Jean de Villiers, Juan de Jongh, Jan Serfontein, Robert Ebersohn, JJ Engelbrecht, Bryan Habana, Lwazi Mvovo, Raymond Rhule, Lionel Mapoe, Bjorn Basson, Gio Aplon, Zane Kirchner, Willie le Roux
  8. Sometimes my Polar has gone to 220 plus. Admittedly it's only been on one or two occasions and very briefly. Not trying to be condescending at all, but are you sure the problem isn't rather with your monitor than with your ticker?
  9. I thought the hub was the whole thing around which everything else revolves.
  10. Who me - or King Watson?
  11. Wonder how the Cheetahs will do in the S15? I'll bet my car, house and wife they'll be in the top 6 come mid-season. Not sure how they'll finish though.
  12. At least we now know that bicycle theft is also alive and kicking in the UK, assuming Greater Manchester Police is where I think it is. Global pandemic it seems.
  13. So should cyclists be fined if not using a cycle lane where one is provided?
  14. My sentiments exactly.
  15. Reading through this thread it seems that Koos is heading for a wreck of a car. Let's just pray there are no innocent persons involved. Which reminds me, how was that R8 that disintegrated in Oxford street on Thursday with the Metro cop trapped inside? Is there another thread on that? The driver must have been doing at least 250 km/h.
  16. Last week whilst on holiday we stopped at the Total garage near Stormsriver, when a taxi pulls up to the fuel pump next to us with a rental trailer and a cow tied up with a short rope around it's neck to the trailer's railings. The rope was too short for the animal to stand and too high for it to lie down. Needles to say the animal was bleeding profusely from its mouth and horns from being bashed around as the vehicle was moving. My wife was traumatised and close to tears. When I confronted the driver he just ignored my appeal to change the rope and said it was none of my business and he was on his way to a funeral where the animal was going to be slaughtered anyway.
  17. Exactly what we did for Tinkerbell. Celebrate a life lived, not mourn a life lost.
  18. Impressive!! Sal jy my help trap asseblief?
  19. Some will tell you to eat much more healthy fats and far less carbs.
  20. +1 on that. The amount of cyclists between Keurbooms and Knysna on the N2 was staggering. Not that they aren't allowed to be there, but with so much vehicle traffic in all those speed controlled zones, there are always idiots pushing up your tail and too many drivers giving in to that pressure and pulling over into the emergency lane. Recipe for disaster.
  21. Well done! My wife has become quite a demon on the bike and all because she's been running for two years now. Her power to weight has moved up to the next level (in her case running made her legs stronger as she doesn't have much weight to lose).
  22. How was your training and diet over the period between 16 December and 6 January? I did 493 km with 4570 m ascent. All on the MTB. And I lost 2.5 kg. Feeling very chuffed with myself.
  23. Cape Town - South African Dakar Rally star, Giniel de Villiers, will drive this year's race in memory of compatriot Burry Stander who was tragically killed after being hit by a minibus taxi on the KwaZulu-Natal south coast on Thursday. VIDEO: Dakar Rally 2013 preview De Villiers, 40, who won the car section of the Dakar Rally in 2009, posted a picture of his Toyota on Twitter on Friday, with an image of Stander clearly visible taped to his car. De Villiers tweeted: This is in memory of Burry Stander who will be riding with us in the Dakar this year. One of SA 's greatest sportsman. The 2013 Dakar Rally starts in Peru on Saturday. http://www.sport24.co.za/Motorsport/Burry-Standers-memory-drives-Giniel-de-Villiers-20130105
  24. Agreed. I just watched the clip. So, so, sad. And unnecessary!! Hard not to shed a tear.
  25. The day before Tinkerbell died last October she said to me "ride your bike because you can!". Was repeated at her memorial service. I'm sure Burry would've had said the same thing if he had the chance to. My heart aches when I think of Burry as it reminds me of Tinkerbell and my late brother, whom I lost in a car accident on the South Coast in 1989. Burry will become an even bigger legend in the mold of James Dean, and I will try and ride my bike even more (although probably all on dirt).
