  1. vote them off CGC
  2. Hein Kroff resigned but was persuaded to carry on by CSA. on line licensing has shot itself in the foot. january application are only being processed now. myrace don't return call , answer emails or give any feedback as to the status of applications. "once bitten........" come next year i will license in the old manual method. online process se moer.
  3. IMHO - wpca and ppa should form an umbrella body called Cycling WP with a governing body controlling (not organising) all cycling in Western Cape. PPA carry on and do the funrides and WPCA the licensed rides. BUT judging by what certain members of the PPA exco think of CSA i don't think they will have any time for the WPCA.
  4. PPA would love to be a national body (thats why they changed from WPPPA to PPA but the other provincial PPA's folded or were absorbed into the existing SACF provincial body). my understanding is that PPA can only issue cyclosport licenses and this will be phased out as they (PPA) want clubs to the sole issuer of licenses. my biggest issue with ppa is that they don't acknowledge that the WPCA or its clubs exists and they change their calender without consulting with the organisers of other local cycling events on the National calender. Geard Pharmacy has been moved and the Wacky Tour. Geard now clashes with Cape Epic but would have clashed with WP Champs if WPCA had not moved the champs from 29 March to April because of the clash with Cape Epic. its this type of arrogence that rubs cyclists up the wrong way.
  5. Whoever inserted the "sunset clause" knew what he was doing because it has forced the PPA's hand. if they (PPA Exco) could hve delayed the decision they would have.
  6. out of the 70 members that attended their must of been about 60 members who were already retired or on pension. it was like an old age home (no disrespect intended) because they voted with their head not their heart. the arguments for dissaffiliation were mostly uninformed and emotional twaddle.
  7. the constitution calls for a show o hands but they quickley had a vote to do it by secret ballot- politician at their best. lots of smoke and mirrors by some Lance dude
  8. 38 to 32 vote for staying in CSA - putrid turnout
  9. no doubt about it - he is head and shoulders above the rest in the RSA and i reckon in the top 10 sprinters in the world. thats not too shabby.
  10. good sprinters do it in the last 150 - 200 metres. RH is still trying to perfect his timing, he , imho, has always gone to soon.
  11. DG is only guesting for MTN in the big races.
  12. history repeats itself. when they retire one will open a bike shop in Jhb and the other one a bike shop in CT and then they'll brag about how much stock they carry and talk k*k about each other.
  13. Final GC - Marissa vd Merwe - 5 min down in 14th, Lynette Burger finished 28th, Robyn de Groot 33rd, Yolandi du Toit 49thand Cherise Taylor 50th. very good results. something to build on.
  14. who are the right people to run/administer the CSA? who must the WP vote for as pres of CSA
  15. MMMMM.....can't wait to hear the other side of the story, and it'll come out eventually
  16. just ridden the van Schoorsdrift Road this morning. there are large holes in the road (too big to be called pot holes) i trust the organisers will ask the Durbanville Municipality to fill them in before that stage. the worst hole is on the flat section just before the downhill to the avenue of trees, the tar has caved in from both side and has formed a crevice across the left of the road, this will certainly rattle some teeth.
  17. any cyclist that would rather stay at home to concentrate on "the Argus" instead of riding against some of the best women cyclists in the world needs a reality check......unless she has been told alreay she is in the squad for Olympics
  18. are we going to just sit back and allow this to carry on or are we going to do something about it. i don't live in S'bosch but if i did i would do something about it.
  19. i rode 90 km yesterday out to Stellenbosch and back. there was wind but not as bad as what you would encounter along the coast. Today went to Hout Bay and back , amazed at the amount of cyclists along the road to Llandudno. btw....purrfect weather
