  1. name = Helene Smit , shame = messy cow
  2. BTS - as a matter of interest - do you belong to a club, association , interest group connected to cycling?
  3. now now boys and girls , stop having tantrums or i'll take your toys away and make you ride with the men and women on the road and track. good bye , i'm outa here
  4. agree , keep on pushing for a solution, the organisers must take responsiblity for the bike. i can't believe that they have the audacity to only offer you a good discount on a new bike thru Cyclelab. why couldn't they deal direct with the Pinarello agents? write to all 2 cycling magazines and tell them of your predicament and lets see who has the guts to publish your letter.
  5. Mark is an accomplished road & mtb'er mehanic who services most of the bikes himself that go thru his shop. so be more specific as to why you are unhappy. he know road, mtbs, track and tandems like the back of his hand, you obviously had a major disagreement.
  6. wonder if the vets will do the same course ------- answer us GL (pretty please) what length and gradient of the hill?
  7. just a quick off the cuff response to FP's email where he states that retailers are not making enough profit. ideally - a business should generate enough income to meet its cost of sales and expenses and this includes the owners salary. profits are not necessarily cash in the pocket of the owner. it could be invested in stock, debtors (they shouldn't have these) , cash in bank or fixed assets (how many shops own their own buildings?) so how much profit does FP or Cyclelab want to make? my lbs has stated that there are not enough margins in bikes so he thereore only sells spares and services bikes as that is where the real money is. i don't shop at FP or CL but maybe that is what they should focus on - service , service service and keeping the customer that buys the bike.
  8. once he is over the mountain (du toits / Bainskloof) then he can cycle along the R101 , past Simonsvlei (big wine bottle), Klapmuts, Muldersvlei, turn left onto R304 to Stellenbosch and then right onto Bottelray. up into Bellville, along Frans Conradie (12th Avenue). From there he can either take the Voortekker Road thru Goodwood, Maitland , Salt River or the Atlantic option, thru Milnerton, Paarden Eiland. i would recommend Voortekker Road becos there will be less wind.
  9. No' date=' not a euphamism! I said developement rider, and that's what I meant.[/quote'] then explain the quotation marks in the subject line? they are PDI's who are in the development stage of their cycling career but have advanced far enough up the ppa seeding ladder to qualify to race in the league. they might be fast and able to follow a wheel. but cornering, drinking from a bottle, missing cateyes/potholes and passing other cyclists skills need a bit of work. they are also prone to over taking on your left ie you might get a bunch of them passing you on your right up a climb but there will always be one that wants to squeeze between you and the gravel.
  10. heard yesterday that a cyclist in CT was involved in an altercation with a motorist. was smacked and ended up with a broken nose.
  11. Heard on Cape Talk this a.m. "cyclist knocked down at Muizenberg circle.
  12. what kit they were wearing?
  13. "Kimmage knows nothing of winning" - here's something to think about. the average speed of the TdF peleton has increased as the PEDs have become more sophisticated from ?36kph to over ?40 with the intro of EPO. Most of Lance's team from over the 7 win have been busted for using., he sits, in surrounded by his team, pulling him at whatever speed he dictates, gets to the climbs and blows away pure climbers. fantastic - great team tactics = great cyclist, yea right. He knows, that Kimmage knows that it just doesn't add up (just like Landis's great comeback). If the trolls are not worthy of interviewing him then why doesn't he just shut up and ride his bike instead of preaching about how clean today's cycling is. He can't because he is the juiced up ones.
  14. QUOTE] I think kimmage is taken too seriously. Tour de Force was quite interesting in highlighting Armstrongs self obsession and attempts to control the worlds view of his image. He seems to try be one step ahead of the 'f@cking little trolls' as he refers to walsh and all the others whom he perceives to be laying seige to what he has built around his persona. The fact that he doesnt deign to answer kimmages utterances further illustrates his contempt for this ex-doper. At least walsh hasnt admitted doping...[/QUOTE] thats what Kimmage has a problem with, the perception that Lance is trying to sell that he and his fellow cyclists are performing these extraordnary feats drug free. Kimmage realised that he couldn't perform, even as a domestique, without drugs. he dropped out of the sport and admitted his usage of drugs. Kimmage knows what it takes to perform day in and day out on a bicycle with and without drugs and he is just questioning the the best cyclist the world has ever seen as to how he is able to perform at those levels without "help". I think Lance is just a little pissed off that someone has the guts to stand up to him and who knows the "little secrets and omerta" of the bunch. Lemond vs Lance - same story butafly2009-02-15 03:50:59
  15. Kimmage exposed the hypocrasy of the all the players in cycling. pre 80's, when they still rode on Coke and water, the top riders all admitted to taking all sorts of medicines, muti's etc just to finish a race/the tour. Kimmage represents the majority of the worlds cycling pro's . of the 100's of pros in Europe there are only a few "winners"in the true sense of the word. Kimmage realised that he couldn' even do his job if he didn't take something "extra". Funny, that not many of the cyclists that have been busted in the past actually publicly stated beforehand to racing clean. They either keep quiet or say they are against juicing up and they have never tested positive. Has Lance ever admited to racing clean or does he state that he is the most tested athlete in the world. there is a big difference.
  16. you can download the set up from the competitive cyclist website. got my wife to measure all my limbs, digets etc and then i made the necessary adjustments to my bike. Cost = R0
  17. why don't all the "killarney girls" get together and blow the race apart from the start. you should be able to halve the bunch by riding hard past F'kraal and on the R312.
  18. this oke was big , and i think his name was Abraham, Apie was pronounced Uppie (as in guppy and not AApie
  19. "vorige road comm"??? who is in the position now??
