  1. I think they different clubs. Club 100 has the blue bib with the club 100 logo while MTN Qubeka has a black bib with the Qubeka logo
  2. Hi, Are there any hubbers on here that rides for the MTN Qubeka social team? Please PM me details of how to get into contact with the club
  3. Is your gears slipping? Don't believe the BS you read on the net. replace the chain when it breaks
  4. Hi, Coming down Suikerbossie from Llandudno side at around 55km, my bicycle started wobbling violently for no apparent reason. I barely managed to bring the bike under control. Needless to say, I was pretty shaken. Upon inspection, both wheels were securely tightened and the headset showed no signs of play. As a precaution I took both wheels out and fitted it again. Anyone experience this and if so did it happen more than once?
  5. Hi, Are there any hubbers that live in the Southern Suburbs that belong to cycling clubs OUTSIDE the southern suburbs? Which clubs are they?
  6. Is this aonther blatant attempt to protect their own corruption? They are a disgrace to cycling
  7. This thread is bollocks. All power data is pure speculation. This article appeared in this thread and there have been nemrous responses. http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=12867919&p=17760498
  8. I love eating apples
  9. Nice vote of confidence for doping
  10. I've been through this and it is traumatic because it takes a while to heal. One hubber forgot the R in ICE, meaning REST unfortunately. Daily stretching routine. Whatever is causing the pain avoid it for a while. In the case of ccycling the cause is often overuse (caused by the repetitive nature of cycling). i wasted money going from specialist to specialist. REST is the only panacea
  11. How to enjoy cycling without spending a dime by Wilfred Cupido
  12. I find it diabolical that in one breathe we can villify Lance (who by the way is still to be convicted) and in the same breathe glorify Alberto and Basso et al who have been convicted. Those explosive attacks by Alberto, must have been a result of doping (by virtue of him having been found guilty) and yet we admire the bloke Opinions
  13. Make your own Screw in 2 hooks (bigger than the coffee mug hooks) into your garage rafter. Attach rope or old tubes to these hooks and suspend your bike by the handle bar and under the seat. Cost- nothing compared to a parktool stand
  14. Do you do it on the road and for how long? If on the road then how do you achieve an uninterrupted test? Would be keen to to hear from those in CT where they conduct their FTP without haaving to be stopped by traffic lights. Ideally you would then have to test under similar conditions every time you do it, to make the results consistent. If you do it on the IDT to you then use that FTP on the road.
  15. Another thing to watch out for drivers blindly pulling into viewing areas. Past there at about 10h00.
  16. what time was this?
  17. Trying to get a response from Club 100, is like trying to flog a dead horse. Months on and no reponse about my enquiry. Maybe you can enlighten us here on the forum in terms of your rides, especially weekends, which routes and what pace does the rides take place
  18. Hi, What cycling clubs are out in the southern suburbs area besides? 1. Cycle Lab 2. Club 100 Interest mostly road P.S Cape Town
  19. Diet alone may result in that kind of weight loss, but the chances are slim
  20. What kind of ridiculous question is this. If you drop 10kg, then by deduction you must have exercised and thus gained fitness which would result in a lower HR
  21. Unless you a weight weenie, don't bother with a groupset, unless it is dura ace as mentioned earlier. Get a Powertap, will give you the most gains
  22. Wasn't picking up any HR, so I replaced the battery and re-paired. I thought all my problems were solved until this weekend when I went for a 5 hr ride. Throughout the ride my Hr was 240bpm. The web is awash with this crap Garmin HR strap. Apparently it is the sensors on the strap and not the transmitter itself. Do yourself a favour and get some other ANT+ strap. I'm a big fan of Garmin (hate propriety protocols), but this HR strap is..........a piece of CRAP
  23. I'm referring to some of the comments below the article which talks about motorist and motor cyclist behaviour
  24. Who is to blame? Reckless motorbikers or drivers using cell phones. I've often ridden past motorists on my bicycle text messaging while driving. Scares me. http://www.iol.co.za/news/south-africa/western-cape/rush-hour-tragedy-leaves-2-dead-1.1305045
