  1. For power junkies, this is the best news EVER
  2. Hi, Any speculations as to how the divorce would affect us. For example who owns what races and will some of the PPA races in the western cape that are league races dissappear off the calendar. Will those that ride league be allowed to ride PPA events and will there be a significant cost increase? Will those that ride league be accomodated within in PPA seeding structure? Any guesses out there?
  3. Based on the above article from DCRainmaker it appears unless you have the newer SRAM groupset, from a money perspective the SRAM power crank does not make sense, unless you want to fork out for a set of STI's and front deraileur as well
  4. There ia another thread about this!!!
  5. hi, Was jus reading this thread and I'm not inspired by the amount of drift in the quarq. Is this a common experience among those of you that use a quarq and is it an annoyance http://www.quarq.com/forum/thread/286/

  8. My choice is a no brainer. Garmin. I can't believe people still buy Polar and with all the baggage that comes with it i.e propriety communications protocal, having to send you device in to have a battery replaced. I mean it is a no brainer. I'm suprised Polar is still around!
  9. My Magneto first ascent jacket leaks like a sieve. Is there anything better on the market?
  10. Hi Edam I'm just trying to get my head around the edge 500 with a PT. Considering buying a PT. If as you say the Edge 500 does not provide smoothing, how does one accurately do intervals using the Edge 500. I mean, say you need to do say 2m intervals at say 300W. If there is no smoothing your wattage as displayed by the Edge 500 will be all over the place in such a short interval, making it difficult to maintain a wattage in a pre-deteremined interval.
  11. Hi, Thanks man. So if it is from the flywheel then I assume I can dispense of the cadence sensor and I will still be able to read watts?
  12. A variation on this would be to use a croissant in place of a hotdog roll. More carbs
  13. Has anyone done a cost/benefit analysis between quarq and powertap (lets say PRO). How much cheaper is the powertap??
  14. Does the Garmin edge 500 head unit provide this smoothing?
  15. Hi, Does anyone know how the TACX indoor trainer derive it's power measurements. If you disconnect the the cadence/speed pickup, but keep the head unit connected to the brake unit, the head unit still displays power. The reason why I'm asking is that I would like to NOT use the Tacx sensor, but use ONLY the garmin 500 cadence and speed sensor. In this way I won't find the need to have 2 cadence sensors mounted to my crank arm. Coming back to my question. Where does this power measurement come from without speed being an input to the tacx?
  16. Dude get a life. Don't be envious of others getting an opportunity.
