  1. When you look at all those short course names in a row - thats a real bomb squad of heros, wow. I hope hope Josh Amberger brings his decals dude from Felt, his bike was always my highlight of the bike p*rn page at Kona
  2. I had to double-take where you live. (I always assume people here are in SA) Thats awesome, ja she got the record. Likes a long run that one.
  3. 9am Eastern Time... so... 4pm (I think)
  4. Tomorrow there is a Hoka sponsored 100km record attempt run happening. One run is in Arizona, the other Japan so I assume its on a track. Jim Walmsley, Jared Hazen, Hayden Hawks, Patrick Reagen, Sage Canady, Camille Herron (although she's already backing away) and thirty something other people will be running. Its free to watch on their website. https://www.hokaoneone.eu/de/de/project-carbon-x2.html?cpath=project-carbon-x2.html
  5. Does anyone know of some trails around Haarties? I know there is a downhill bike trail around the cablecar, can you run that (obv not the exact same one you'll be killed instantly...) or near that too? (I say the cablecar because also its not a million miles away, while places like buffelspoort side are a bit too far a drive to make often) I'm thinking of adding some lekker ascent into some runs, and heading up and down the side of that ridge thing seems legit.
  6. I actually didn't know a quote first system even existed. (To me a quote is for prices anyway) The chap wrote to me to ask if I was happy for him to quote me - I replied by saying sorry I must have clicked the incorrect checkout button or something, yes obviously I'd like a 'quote' thats why I selected the stuff, but what are the prices on the site for ... I agree with the various sentiments here that there really should be a quantity added in the website - I don't know how their operation works in the background but its quite odd, and evidently frustrating.
  7. Feel I should add my 2c for these chaps seeing as I used them. I ordered a torque wrench (with added socks to the basket to get free shipping ) The quote came within 2 days, after telling me the socks were in fact out of stock.... (cunning plan stymied) I paid the next day, the package arrived 3 days later. All in all easy process, Ivan was excellent - he kept me up to date with each step, I'd definitely use them again.
  8. To my mind this highlights the increasing need for coaches to be as much 'psychologist' as a physical trainer.
  9. Covid is killing off a lot of those mass participation sports. Its going to be years until (SA at least) will return to regular two/five/whatever thousand people running marathons/21s. I've also read a ton of bad press for ironman the organisation overseas. I haven't concerned myself with too much detail but I got the feeling they've handled cancellations etc very poorly and people are raging. I feel so bad for the peeps who were going to do PE IM for example. Mad training for Mar last year - postponed, continued training for Nov - cancelled, continued training for Mar - cancelled. Thats no joke. Vetplants post and sentiment sounds very similar. I obv understand and agree with why its all happeninig but sometimes you just need to be selfish and say this is some boolsheet.
  10. Haha ja shame the old girl is still here, collecting dust
  11. Maybe she was too embarrassed to take another season of riding a bike with a giant boat-sail-storage-box flapping behind her
  12. Hard to believe isn't it. Considering how much work the Raelert bros do with Cube in design and R&D I imagine this'll be a very exciting time for Cube to get big work done (with one of the biggest stars), and for Lucy to get hectic customised bike attention.
  13. Interesting move. I like it. https://www.slowtwitch.com/News/Lucy_Charles-Barclay_Moves_to_CUBE_Bicycles_7860.html
  14. Apologies if I've said this before but your hub name cracks me up! Very sharp
  15. Was that the Impossible burger?
  16. Got it down to 2.6. Wow! Resting heart rate was in the high 90s. Double triple f*ing wow! You were on your way out, thats outrageous. Round of applause for both, awesome. What a story. See if you can find Oatly or Rude Health oat 'milks'. They both have a specific Barista version - with slightly different ingredients and wizardry to the standard versions. Its undoubtedly 99% marketing but you never know. I don't have milk in my coffee so I'm none the wiser there, but I do have the Oatly one with oats and its super delicious and might be what you're looking for.
  17. I think coconut water especially was an exhibition of marketing success over the health narrative/benefit it brought along with it. I reckon coconut oil won similar favour from the 'high fat' push with the new diet fads over the last 10 (? or so) years. I personally only know of having the oil in Beyond products. But then again not much in those products is overly healthy .... so I don't think of it as such anyway. I don't think you need to avoid it like the plague, but I wouldn't be pouring it in your coffee every day
  18. Thats good work. Tough work too. Well done Its why my wife went veg initially, got a cholesterol reading shock.
  19. Its ~85% saturated fat. it raises both HDL and LDL cholesterol. Edit: whats the good one, unsaturated I think?
  20. Wow! thats incredible, it looks brilliant
  21. Probably is. Ja tough one. The carbon fibre I'm picturing is the one on cars and bikes and that certainly won't bend when it's old, I'm hoping the shoe one is a more resin'y type so it won't splinter. Dunno, guessing now... 300 miles is a pretty poor effort if that is true though. I struggle to see how that's a sustainable model for the average user. Edit: actually, maybe not. Vaporflys only have a couple of marathons in them, alphafly I have no idea but probably similar, and there's no shortage of the former around. I suppose someone who can't afford to replace their carbon plated shoes often just doesn't buy them, and they still have a massive selection of 'hardier' shoes available. So ja, maybe it does make sense.
  22. Interesting, what happens to the insert? Does it become pliable - in which case I suppose you just have a 'normal old' type shoe again. Or does it become brittle - then I'd be worried about it snapping
  23. How does the shoe look? Has the sole been scraped / worn away anywhere? Is it coming apart at the toe? Is the foam collapsing? Is she a 'light' runner and they look brand new still? I'm sure they could easily do double the distance if they still feel in good shape. (Sorry, general view, I don't know these shoes specifically)
  24. Hows the hand? and ribs (was it?)
  25. Fuji Newest! My first bike
