  1. Joburg thunderstorm taken with Galaxy s
  2. I think this is a case for Darwins law. And when they get knocked over we wont miss them. Its a case of eliminating the stupid. Same concept of the LSD user who jumps off the 10th story building because he thinks he can fly. He should have tried from the ground first. We don't need them, they are stupid. As to the question would I tell a group of cyclists to move over. No ways, can you imagine the abuse that would get hurled your way. Would just piss you off for the rest of the day.
  3. 290695 Due In Stock 25/01/2012 - That's from chainreaction so who knows when it will be available locally.
  4. Don't stress you will be fine on the SS. As usual just pick the gears for the hills. even if you have gears your legs will be tired for the run. Anyway I have seen people ss rigid the epic. That's got to be tough.
  5. Ok, confirmed it. Definitely a hippo there at the moment.
  6. Has anyone actually spoken to the people at Heia and confirmed this? Cause I swam in a race there October and November. No hippo. I have heard that the hippo is actually in the dam at Kloofzicht. This was a confirmed spotting at a Christmas lunch there early December. Just asking because the Dam is the perfect place for swimming.
  7. Awesome, can you enter on the day? or is it better to pre enter? Ok never mind just read the entry form.
  8. I wouldn't worry too much. I am 189cm and have always raced at about 76-78kg. Only problem with that is you look like a string bean. Just make sure you stay healthy. I find I get sick easier when I am that light.
  9. Anyone in Johannesburg keen to do some Longish (50km - 70km) MTB rides. My friends have all left me and I need people to ride with. I am in Sunninghill. Keen to ride Breedts nek, Northern Farms, Spruit or wherever.
  10. Gees do you really want to wear something so big when you swim. Saw a lady at gym wearing these. They look like a diving mask. Have you tried the spit in the goggles and wash it out trick to try prevent the fogging? I generally like the smallest racing goggles.
  11. Lol, great thread. I never ride my mtb bike in the rain or through water or on sand or in mud. In fact I don't ride it at all cause parts may wear.
  12. I will be there for sure.
  13. I am there. Entered the full distance, really looking forward to it.
  14. I have the same saddle and same seat post on my hardtail mtb. It works fine. Been working fine for over a year. My brother uses same saddle and seatpost as well on his mtb.
  15. Nice good going. So we can count you in for next year in the SS group.
  16. Yeah, agreed it is fun.
  17. Hey, Thanks. yeah it was fine. Last couple hills I cramped a bit, but def will use same ratio again next year. I started in LL so unseeded. Next year with my seeding aiming to go under 3:00 Maybe we can convince the organisers to have a SS category.
  18. I did 3:25 with a 44/16. Also had a great time.
  19. My list is as follows: Broken Ribs Year later broke ribs again 7 months later broke both wrists, surgery on both (3 surgeries on the left), permanent pins in wrist, and broken elbow. 7 months recovery. about year and half after that, more broken ribs. After another year, broken ribs and collar bone. I have great pictures of the wrist before and after the ops.
  20. I figured that, but there aren't really that many hills. I know about the rolling hills of the N14 and the reasonable hill towards Kyalami. But even those are not too big, and certainly not long. Anyways I will report back if I bit off way more than I could chew.
  21. Ok cool, sticking with original plan then.
  22. Ok, so I was considering a 44/16 am I crazy, i have slicks on the mtb?
  23. These multi billion dollar companies that are sponsouring cycling events are not making money off there merchandise. It is merely for marketing. By less people wearing their kit you are actually doing them a dis-service. Know one here seems to know the licence or patent rules in SA regarding this kit. So maybe just let things be untill you do know. P.s. I don't buy team kit because I also think it looks silly.
  24. Awesome frame. So in my collection I have the 2007 version of the Kula. As well as a 97 AA.
  25. 9 speed chain, old xt chainring on the front, and dmr ss ring on the rear. Haven't had a problem.
