  2. Enjoyable day out with nice trails and district roads. Hardly any bottlenecks and well stocked water tables. Buffels (#1) was more difficult for me.
  3. And the double middle lane is respected...no trying to overtake like most people would do in sunny SA. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  4. Saw this at OR Tambo coming from long term parking - somebody got a tender to provide bins - each pillar has at least 2...
  5. Hi If you are on Facebook, go look at this group: "Zest for Life - correcting weight and health". Some good advice and ideas offered. Following properly it worked like a charm ( I did not do all the supplements) as it is more lifestyle change than a short time diet. Unfortunately I succumbed to life's temptations... Good luck
  6. Love the way they honoured some prior winners with blazers. (Sorry about quality of pic, from ceiling hospital tv)
  7. Getting dropped by your son..
  8. Excellent initiative and looking forward to next years race.
  9. Flat on my back in hospital with DVT...no fun at all.

    Who remembers?

Looking at the VW Syncro ad, those years a lot of kombi owners put in V6's by Daan Jacobs Conversions - messed up the gearbox though.
  11. A shout out to the rider who handed in my son's Garmin that he lost after a coming together with mother earth. Appreciated!
  12. Hi, if the start is at ARC (which seems to be on the Moloto road), where would be the best place to park? Where would registration be on race day? Thanks
  13. Aiming for another almost longest day....maybe I can finish on the Saturday Registration paid! This registration is completely paid. Enjoy the event!
  14. ...and a month more for "training".... ...
  15. Seeing that I finished so late, my wife told me about the woman was ranting as her husband was picked up by the sweep. Pity she does not put any times in her post. i.e. when did they leave Calitzdorp and at what time and where were they picked up by the sweep. There is some information missing that would give a more complete picture. No quite second hand info, but from I heard they may have no been aware of the interim cut-offs (it was 22:00 at 310 km, which they had not made). The focus was on finishing by 6am. We were at the last wp at about 23:38, and at that stage they had already been picked up. There was no threat to us being picked up and we were even "escorted" in by a bakkie on the final tar stretch. We were passed a number of times by the medic(s) on the quad bikes on the stretch between Calitzdorp and last wp, so difficult to comment on that one. It is good to help a fellow-competitor, but in doing so you may have to sacrifice your own race / time, but is it then fair to rant against the event / event organiser if (pre published rules) are applied? On a more positive note, the braaibroodjie at the Rooiberg waterpoint was a winner
  16. Would like to do this one, but the timing is not the greatest, being a week after 36One - my @$$ will die a thousand deaths. JoBerg2C is also on the go as well. C2T was a month ago - probably not a lot of people doing 2 ultra's in the space of 1 month. Good luck to those going.
  17. That's the spirit!
  18. No man, take up golf
  19. Well done to everyone that participated (and finished) this awesome race, and team Tortured Souls, excellent stuff in winning again, you guys are machines! A BIG thank you to all involved in running this event, The people manning the various waterholes were great (especially WP5), the marshals, the medics, everyone contributed to make this one to remember. Thank you. I finished....maybe it's time to dust off those golf clubs again? Until next year
  20. Indeed, and on Tuesday we take up the early bird entry for 2019!
  21. as reflected in the very apt team name - would that be until the competitive juices get flowing?
  22. If he does a double lap at the same pace I can keep him company for the last stage
