  2. stupid silly question ... did you install the fd and set the screws properly?
  3. what pricing are you looking at for a set?
  4. A chain will never be included and only gets changed when you change the casette and or chainrings. on my mtb (when i was regularly riding lots of mud) i changed it after every 1000 km. on road I change it about every 3000 km i was under the impression (that for mtb and road) to regularly change the chain, and every 4th or 5th time to change the rest of the drivetrain. just asking, should they be changed together or ????
  5. I am impressed ... did it hurt?
  6. duidelik vat bmc fan nie *** van kabouters nie

  11. i see your brake parts is m5 Ligfietsen... have you ever seen a carbon m5? piece of art. was in one of the encycleopedias.
  12. buying drinks is a pleasure when wearing a cycling shirt. 6 bottles at the back, and some more in your hands
  13. had a specialized for a few years now. no hassles at all
  14. mrs, did you get the pink hudz yet? WHERE IS THE PIX?
  15. <hijack> i might sell my one soon. hansom tandem, will be going for 2000. i'm in gauteng, not western cape </hijack>
  16. I would risk it, steel can be fixed. I would ask someone to tig weld it. 1st prize would be to get the same droput and braze it in again from what bicycle is it
  17. Mrc C, not to worry. just communicate with your partner. looong ago and far away ... when captaining, I tend to spin more, and my stoker is a bit more of a slugger/masher. she quickly told me to change gears if that happens
  18. 2 donts: dont complain your footrests are moving. dont stop pedaling. not even to coast. your feet is connected to the captains feet via the timing chain. just keep the legs moving. if you are getting tired, talk to the captain.
  19. congrats keep your friends close and your enemies closer
  20. between the different brands : shimano, campag and sram, the pull does differ. not to say it cannot or wont work, but it might be sometimes a tad difficult to get all the rear gearing working between brands for the shimano : I am not sure about the rapidrise rear deraileurs. but for the normal rear deraileurs, all the shimano rear deraileurs since 7 speed is just about the same. it might even be the same for the 6 speed. The amount of pull for the rear deraileur travel is the same with the exception with the exception of 1986 dura ace. tandem okes are putting mtb (long cage and robust) deraileurs on their bikes regularly the front deraileurs also are just about the same. there are anyway little enough gears to match up. the swing on the tripple fds make it sometimes difficult to mount on braze ons, if the cranks and bb is for a double. The main difference between the fds is top and bottom pull and that mtb fd's curvature is smaller to match the smaller chainring. this is why you get things like the shimano fd443 that is to use straight bar shifters on road cranks. under correction, i think for shimano mtb and shimano road, the pull might be different.
  21. i've never complained about any post yet, but some people have pm'd me about 2 or 3 of mine. one was because of religion, and one was about a cyclist with learning disability. easy enough to edit the post. many of the hubbers have been here for a looooong time, and some people we know from before that on the supercycling messageboard. with many you build up a longterm relationship, even if you never met. I remember like it was yesterday when bigh left for moz, and my heart bled for sammajoor when he had to sell his monoq. yes, there are always the quick, fly by nighters, and the newbies only logging on to sell stuff. (i think there should be a limit of 10 posts before they can advertise, but that is another story)
  22. 'para .. is it only ultegra, or do you get other versions as well of the short reach brake?
