  4. polar (en oakleys) het streng prysbeheer. as jy dit goedkoop verkoop het hulle nie meer stock vir jou nie so jy gaan dit oral teen dieselfde prys kry (behalwe as jy mooi praat en dit stil hou)

  10. correct me if I am wrong : racing licence - annual. specially seeded groups, can get prize money, can partake in provincials and nationalsgot to belong to a club/ppa cyclosport - annual. normally seeded groups, no prizemoney, cannot partake in provincials, and nationals, got to belong to a club/ppa recreational - annual, open groups/open seeded, no prizemoney, cannot partake in provincials, and nationals, just there for the ride, got to belong to a club/ppa day licence - single race. open groups, open seeded. no prizemoney, cannot partake in provincials, and nationals, just there for the ride, dont have to belong to a club
  11. scotty, i dont think a day licence or cyclosport licence will allow you to get prizemoney, only a fullblown racing licence.
  12. Mallo I dont mind "becoming part of the structure", however, I anyway ride in the unseeded group. I am never going to get any of the price money anyway. for most rides, when I am fit, I ride a recumbent. According to UCI rules, recumbents are banned, and if I take out a racing licence, they wont let me start with the racing crowd on my recumbent. Hey, I am extremely willing to pay full racing licence fees to be able to start on my recumbent with the seeded groups. (even if they will drop me in the first minute) Now instead of paying temporary licence fees, I have to become member of a club to pay my r30 for a RECREATIONAL licence. my personal opinion - add r5 per cyclist for every race. if you race a lot ... you pay a lot. if you do a few races during the year, you pay minimally. that way I dont have to bother with the nonsense with becoming a member of a club for the odd occasion I want to partake in a cycleride.
  13. DR the one bike is complete without wheels that i bought from greekdog. this is the one with the Formula Pro Hydraulic discs the other bike is a dahon folder on Gumtree, with hayes HMX-2 discs. I want to use the wheels on the first bike. I think both bikes uses 160mm, but not sure if the wheels will fit
  14. happy bday, may there be many many more
  15. with the exception of the rotor size (160/180) are disk brake wheels compatible with one another, or what affects it? rephrase: If I buy a set of wheels with disk brakes, what are the chances of being able to use it on a bike with disk brakes? I bought a bike without the wheels on thehub, and am planning on buying a secondhand bike with discs for about the same price as a new set of wheels. the wheels on the complete bike is hayes HMX-2 discs, and the disc brakes on the bike without wheels are Formula Pro Hydraulics. Thanks a lot
  16. Dont misinform him : Marius, you must remember to include the photo of yourself, bike and the couch!
  17. I think most distributors need to realize that they are now competing globally, and that back up support from them and their suppliers need to speed up or their customers (the cyclists and the LBS) will find another local or global supplier. In line with this, they need to relook at their margins, and renegotiate credit terms with their debtors. a 90 days lead time for payment is too much! they must speed up on the support. If you can get a new part from totalcycling in 10 days, why not a replacement part in 10 days? (no waiting for months, with no resolution. the LBS must not use the distributor as cheap financing. This might cause cashflow problems for some, in bringing the payment period down, but in order to stay competitive, they must lessen the credit load on the distributor, in order to negotiate bettter pricing, and to allow the distributor to do the same, and pass the savings down. the local cyclist ordering from overseas, pays up front (or via creditcard) Be willing to do the same to your LBS or local mail order supplier, and do not order stuff, and then not take it or pay for it. lastly, if you dont support your LBS, dont cry if you need an emergency fix, and they are not there to support you anymore. If the distributor does not make it, another will step up and fill his place. The same might not be true about your LBS. Get your bike serviced at the lbs, buy your tubes, blinkies, etc there. your new tubes with postage from the mail order co, will be more expensive that buying from the lbs. give them a chance to match prices. if you buy elsewhere, get them to install the new groupset for you. or they might not be there one day for you
  18. aag oom bigH, is daar nie goedkoop grys campags daar op die strate nie. ek sal optel as jy op OT internasionaal land die week voor die argus?
  19. ok, which club is inexpensive, without the frills? I wont mind paying r30 to "thehubclub" for the r20 licence fees + a token r10 admin fee, but sadly, that beast does not exist what is the next inexpensive option?
  20. ok, skip the cyclosport licence. where or how can I buy the recreational licence?
