  1. Hey! We stopped for a chat at the top of Smits. It really was a great day. I clocked 120km around the peninsula
  2. No man, I was just gobsmacked that the dude was pissing while riding with people all over the place. I've never seen that before outside of a Pro peleton. Why would you piss all over yourself?
  3. Forget about the 5km rule. A guy pissed while riding along the seaboard!!!!
  4. Guys are really searching hard for a 5km zone. Do you get homesick if you stray to far away? There isn't a restriction, let it be.
  5. You lot are worried about droplets... I still can't believe this happened... From top of suikerbossie towards Bakoven, just past the Llandudno turn off a non professional rider takes a piss while riding 45km/h with tons of people around!
  6. I thought it was common knowledge https://citizen.co.za/business/business-news/11146/zumas-son-connected-to-cigarette-scheme/ https://www.thesouthafrican.com/news/level-4-lockdown-nkosazana-dlamini-cigarettes-illegalwho-is-adriano-mazzotti/
  7. A wheel sucker complained my rear light was too bright for him... LOL
  8. Thanks for the advice. Yes, I think I would be best advised to speak to a broker.
  9. Hi, I currently have zero medical cover so I was looking at my options. I found favourable medical insurance with One Plan which is far, far cheaper than anything I have seen with medical aid schemes but their cover is not bad at all. Does anyone have any experience or insight into medical aid vs medical insurance. Thanks
  10. You're missing the point. Firstly I commute to work all year so have the gear but on my way to work I can also take layers off as I get hot. I ride plenty with my backpack, I don't really want to do it for a 'fun ride'. This 6-9 slot is the issue. It wasn't at all thought out by our obese politicians who don't really care if you or I can ride. Also, because of their lack of thought they didn't even consider that it may be light and bright in JHB and KZN at 6:30 whereas it only brightens up in CPT at 7:30, further condensing the workout window and people WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT THEY ARE NOW COMPLAINING ABOUT!
  11. Atlantic seaboard was just as busy as yesterday, maybe even more cyclists today. I'm more likely to catch pneumonia than corona with on these cold mornings.
  12. Sea Point was absolutely pumping this morning. This social gathering timeslot is working out great
  13. You're not allowed to smoke because apparently there were 2000 who didn't want the ban to be lifted!!!P. S. I stopped smoking in September which allowed me to do a 2h59m28sec CTCT (it never gets old saying that ha ha ha ha)
  14. I have lights and for sure I will be riding.... the question is WHY 6-9
  15. Very smart people in the government. Sunrise in CPT at 7:20
  16. Friday will look like the CTCT. Let's hope there isn't a mass congregation at the top of chappies on Friday. All we need is someone to drive past and snap a photo!
  17. Thats a shame, I just threw one in the bin. I didn't think people use them anymore
  18. I also saw that advert on FB. I saw they were in Joburg and closed it immediately (I'm in CPT). Nowadays, I won't buy anything unless I can walk in, hand over cash and walk away with my goods. That is unless it is a huge retailer.
  19. I do that route most days. Liesbeek parkway past The River Club and straight to town on Albert Road. You'll be surprised, it's no that busy and the road is wide enough that I have to say I haven't really had any close calls after 3 years of riding this route
  20. Where can we buy the brand new S Works bikes that were bought by the overweight/unfit sponsor CEO's that were only going to be used in the prologue? Seriously though, I feel bad for the guys who paid their entries. The Epic will come unstuck if they don't give those guys at least free entries next year.
  21. Yup, it sounded like a land rover was chasing me
  22. The sealant sprayed out for about 4 or 5 revolutions before sealing. It was my first sub 3 so kind of a massive deal for me.
  23. I use the Schwalbe Pro ones and they have been fantastic. The Giant Gavia tyres that came with my bike didn't seal initially but that was because the shop used 'Sludge' which only seals when pressure is below 40psi. Orange Seal fixes all the issues which are being blamed on the tyre
  24. Tubeless tyres save the day!!! I got a puncture along misty cliffs at yesterday's Cape Town cycle tour. I didn't even slow down and it sealed up with almost zero loss of pressure (maybe lost 5psi). I snuck in to finish in 2h 59m 28 seconds.
  25. I'm over the moon with my first sub 3 from 2A in my 3rd year of riding. It was a beautiful day and completely drama free
