  1. I'm over the moon with my first sub 3 from 2A in my 3rd year of riding. It was a beautiful day and completely drama free
  2. This is also my recommendation
  3. Chappies was chaos today but was actually quite comical. After a year of hard training and being blown away by the savages at 6am it was my turn to feel like Froome!
  4. That's good news but 3 years is a disgrace. He probably withdrew his appeal because he knows he will be out in a year
  5. Not sure why he may miss the Olympics, the incident happened end of December. Olympic road race is end of July
  6. Fully assembled and I have to say I'm very happy with how she rides. Feels very solid but also very comfortable at the same time, it's not at all skittish on poor road surfaces. Also very stable on the descents.
  7. Close... a pretty rare Cayman R
  8. I finally have something to boast about on this thread. Father Christmas was a bit late but it was worth the wait.
  9. It might be useful to let people know what time
  10. They need to throw the book at the ranger. Regardless of permit, he manhandled someone who is tip toeing on cleats so badly that he snaps his arm, throws him in the back of the bakkie and within 2 seconds grabs his packet of chips.
  11. The security guards are clearly racist, where is Juju?
  12. I'm looking for a crank for this old Cannondale and also a 26 inch road wheel for a deserving old man who is determined to ride his bike forever!
  13. That's exactly why I want 50mm wheels! They are also being fitted to an aero bike so a box section aluminium rim won't look great
  14. This is what I have found out so far: CRC Prime wheels are just about the same price as ordering direct from China, they also have plenty of bad reviews. I contacted Stark wheels but they weren't officially tubeless but may work with tubeless tyres. Marz dont have any 50mm wheels in my budget. The cheaper aero wheels in the classifieds are tubular, not tubeless. Darkhorse seemed very helpful when I visited this afternoon. I understand they have an updated wheel (not sure if it is different to what was for sale say 2 years ago). I went to Reon at Sportopia after the above recommendation and found he was very, very, very helpful. He had Concept Speed wheels and Salt wheels that were both very nice and I may go with one of those options. I'm awaiting his response. BTW, the Salt 50mm wheels are 15k. There are a ton of Chinese options...
  15. Thanks for the replies. I will investigate all the suggested options
  16. Yes, they are Chinese (aren't they all!) rims built up here in Cape Town. They are also tubeless which is a definite requirement.
  17. Thanks. Reasonably priced would mean I'm not prepared to pay 40/50k for a set of Zipps/Enve etc. The Darkhorse are 15k so that's kinda my target
  18. I'm looking for a set of 50mm carbon road wheels. Does anyone have any experience with Darkhorse. They seem like the only reasonably priced wheels available locally.
  19. I sold some parts last week that were actually brand brand new in the packet. I described them as Brand New but the buyer was still surprised when he saw them. He said, "wow, they are actually brand new"!!!???
  20. I had a response today from my wanted advert from 064 605 0546. I was looking for a Dura Ace crank. He sent me a photo but unfortunately for him I spotted it had a Specialized power meter attached so I realised there was no way he was selling it and didn't know it was fitted. I did a quick google search and found the imagine that he sent me. He also called me a number of times, I have a feeling these guys are calling from prison because he tried to call non stop and then went offline for the rest of the day. I saw something on Carte Blanche about this.
  21. When using the mobile site on Android using Chrome I select View Active Topics and I get the list. I then open the ones I want to read in a new tab but I am not logged in to any of the new tabs. If I go to the top to sign in it says my login is invalid. It's almost like it is going back to the old site???
  22. No way in the world I would like to repair that frame
  23. Let's not get our knickers in a twist over ebikes. I agree, the more the merrier. They won't be part of the equation for those competing for the first couple of hundred spots and for those like me who are placing in the 1000's... who cares if I am 1884 or 1924
  24. And I used to cycle to the top of Chappies, have a smoke and carry on LOL
