  1. Wow that really looked sore
  2. Yup, have to agree, the support was brilliant. Suikerbossie support was absolutely magic. Was my first Argus and can hardly wait for next year
  3. Sure it's rideable but it was as smooth as a pool table before
  4. I doubt it is an afterthought, it may be because there is some sort of police investigation as the report suggests
  5. With regards to the marshall, I went past them in the fast descent past Llandudno, I would guess that they are trying to figure out what happened first. I can't see how the marshal was hit. Was he crossing the road where the cyclist was doing 50+km/h? Tragic
  6. People were getting very excited going through Camps Bay, a guy crashed into the back of me and took me down. Got his handlebars stuck in my rear wheel. Luckily I got it up and running and managed a 3:20 on my first Argus. Loved every second of it.
  7. That put a downer on the day. RIP
  8. Good news that they caught the driver, strangely it wasn't a white bakkie that was originally thought. Thoughts are with the family during this tough time.
  9. I have a friend coming on a last minute trip to CT. Can he buy one of the entries for sale in the classifieds? This will be our first Argus so not sure if you can buy an entry without substituting?
  10. You'll be fine as long as you wash your bike after a ride... could be a big problem for those in the Cape
  11. Make sure you ask them for a VAT receipt when ordering, they will not send one retrospectively. Also, the VAT in the UK is 20% but you don't get all of that back when claiming a tax refund at the airport with all their admin charges, it's more like 12-14%.They've also made it a slow process, the queues are crazy long, full of Chinese women claiming the VAT back on their Louis Vuitton bags so bank on getting to Heathrow 3.5 hours prior to flying
  12. It would have been good news if they were bringing bikes over and not shipping bikes one by one.
  13. For $300 delivery it makes no sense.
  14. Thanks, good advice
  15. Going for my first CTCT and I've done the reverse route 4/5 times and I've had a headwind for the outward journey and then enjoyed the last 30km with the south easter behind me which was great because I was getting tired. Always ridden alone so I had no drafting at all. Should I be worried if I wake up on the day and it's blowing hard or is the course more or less the same both ways?
  16. I think it costs about €400 to ship to SA. I had it sent to my parents house in London and then shipped it for about £260!
  17. I'm pretty sure it was from Shorter Rochford cycles. I bought my first BMX from there back in the day!
  18. I spoke to him last night. It was actually £4500 without wheels
  19. My friend just got a deal on a R5 Dura Ace Di2 in the UK for £5000. R163,000 over here!
  20. Was also wondering the same thing, anyone???
  21. I did a reverse Argus on Sunday but took a wrong turn into Ocean View. Right into an illegal dog fight!
  22. Here you go: 074 181 9682
  23. the Gear Change in Mowbray
  24. Bontrager Flare R. I just bought one. Check the reviews section
  25. I liked the end of the press release... "Thank you to ThinkBike and the BMW Club Marshalls for keeping our riders safe..."
