  1. How did you arrive at the R8500 figure. Aren't these £500 before shipping + costs
  2. It's a great bike, I had one. You need a nice set of deep section rims on there
  3. Don't forget the government let out 19,000 prisoners from jail during lockdown. It takes a miracle to get them in jail in the first instance
  4. My god, this is well out of hand now. I was going the same route right behind you guys. Only the crazy wind at the top of Chappies made me head back towards the calm of seapoint... and I always ride alone. These attacks seem to happen very early in the morning before the roads get too busy. We need to make a plan to hunt these guys down, we can't live like this.
  5. I can't believe what's going on at the moment. So did they just crash into the back of you at speed?
  6. OMG, hope you're all OK. This is getting out of hand.
  7. Bike jacked or stolen?
  8. There are plenty of people who want the most expensive bike. If Spez didn't offer a 200k bike they would lose the sale to Pinarello. It's like trying to convince your wife that a R60 bag from Mr Price is the same as a R60k Gucci
  9. The R200k S-Works is actually a claimed weight of 6.1kg. The Founders edition is 5.9kg but that will cost a staggering £13,000
  10. The first photo of someone overtaking the 5.9kg bike up a climb wins a prize! Seriously though, it's a beautiful bike
  11. You can buy longer valves, no need for extenders. No, you can't (or not recommended) run tubeless on non compatible wheels. I even tried putting a Schwalbe Pro One on a Ksyrium and couldn't even get it on the rim. Normal Stans will only hold air up to approx 40psi. Their Race Sealant is supposed to be better but I haven't tried it personally. I have read quite a few good reports about the Maxxis and Hitch. I use Schwalbe Pro Ones because they roll fast and are lighter than all the other tubeless tyres. I've also had no issues with them in over 15,000km
  12. I personally like the Ciovita stuff, all I requested a few years ago were some brighter colours which they now have. I bought a couple of tops today but went to the store to try on.
  13. Aeroad 7.26kg for £7700 or SL7 6.9kg for £10500
  14. A person doesn't need to have a reason or an excuse to buy an e-bike just as someone doesn't need to explain or justify why they paid R200k for a S-Works. It is also not any easier, just faster. I had a 9.7kg Giant Anthem that I used to ride up and down the mountain, you think a 24kg e-bike in eco mode is any easier or quicker up hill? I have to say though, the e-Mtb is a ton of fun and it just means I can go up and down The Glen 4/5/6 times in a quick lunch break. There are also ridiculously steep banks that you can put it in Boost mode and power up which you could never do on a regular MTB
  15. I bought a Merida e-MTB. Now I'm working from home I can zip out for a lunchtime ride on the mountain. 25km's and 1000m of climbing in just over an hour. I wouldn't be bothered to take out my road bike for an hour of riding
  16. After a long wait due to Covid my Factor VAM frameset finally arrived. Weighing in at a whopping 6.3kg!
  17. Lovely bike, nice to see a proper rim brake bike. Who owns the stolen bike now?
  18. Hi guys, one more needed. We have: Myself Cornerz CommuterJoe
  19. Yes I am. I'm still waiting for my MTB to arrive so not in a mad rush but I'm ready to go as soon as we have a group of 4
  20. Good choice, it's a brilliant bike
  21. I saw 5 guys on that banking by the bridge. They looked like trouble but luckily the cops were parked close by. I would say avoid at all costs
  22. I rode through there on Friday by myself (I was looking for trouble!).There were 2 law enforcement cars parked up and one drove through past me... but I wouldn't recommend it unless you are armed.
