  1. Think you are missing the point here. The two parties agreed a price, it is a binding agreement. Seller didn't say sold, provided I don't get a better offer.
  2. Agree 100% but some sellers don't seem to get this. Once upon a time at band camp, sorry the Hub, someone was advertising a proride, no takers so I put in an offer which was accepted. The night before the meeting to do the exchange the seller messaged me saying that he had received a better offer and could I match it. Was only a R100 more - seller did not seem to realise that for R100 he sold his integrity. I probably should have pointed that out to him but to be honest if he didn't get it in the first instance I doubt he would have understood.
  3. If you can do a couple of 100 km training rides you are more than qualified to complete 94.7 (even if last ride was 3 months back) - you are not going to podium but will finish in a far better shape than a lot of the people out there

  5. I signed up to ride for a charity and obviously got the charity start time - are you able to use your own seeding to get a better start time? Don't have any burning desire to ride with the charity, just wanted to donate to a good cause ie ride for them not with them. I am also assuming my seeding will give me a better start time!!!
  6. Have a Spez Ambush and very happy with it - also has the crash replacement warranty which came in handy. If memory serves you only pay 50% for new helmet if involved in a crash and need a new lid.
  7. Where does one find the results? Think a lot of the DNS was due to ridiculously late start times in that heat!
  8. First time doing the race and will def do it again next year. Organisers might want to consider letting 45km race set off on the "second leg" first and finish off with the 20km route, that way you don't have the 20km racing snakes having to fly past 45km back markers. Great race, great logistics, good vibe
  9. A few customers have given the Norco Revolver a test ride and I have heard rave responses
  10. Give Mellow Velo a call - 011 465 5647, they are agents and promoting them big time and they do appear to be good value
  11. Use Amazon, granted they do not ship all the stuff ALI Express does but what they do ship arrives within a week to 10 days and by courier. Awesome service
  12. As per all the other recommendations, bar the Yeti dude, Blur or Tallboy
  13. Is the guy pulling the zap upset cos he has to run whilst you okes cycle?
  14. SRAM GX EAGLE 1X12-SPEED TRIGGER UPGRADE KIT
  15. I hope you got angry and Hulk Smashed the bush into the ground so it doesn't happen to anyone else..... Made my day - thanks for that!
  16. More of the SRAM GX Eagle Upgrade Kit pleeease - put one in my cart, went to do some more shopping and when wanted to check out it was gone! Snooze you lose I guess!
  17. Personal anecdote - my Garmin had me as being 10 mins faster over 55kms on my old R8k Rocky Mountain (with R100 plastic flat pedals) than on my Tallboy 3 - I blame the Garmin!
  18. I have often wondered the same thing ie how much speed can one buy and I was personally of the view that it was not much - assuming you are not comparing a Bomber to a Tallboy! Interestingly though I was at a braai on Sat and one of the guys told me that when packing his S-Works Camber for Sani he noticed a crack on the rear triangle - long story short a bike shop loaned his a Camber Comp and he said it was chalk and cheese - felt like he was going backwards up hills on the Comp. That said could all be in the mind as didn't ask him about comparable times.
  19. Agreed, was also my reasoning for doing the 72km, that and the fact that Punisher shirts are cool!
  20. I did! That said, and as alluded to above, the service I received from Concept Cyclery at Cedar almost swung it for and I was just fortunate that a mate loaned me his Tallboy for a weekend. Had that not happened I would have gone with Spez. I was open and honest with them about going with the Tallboy and they were very cool.Use them still for a lot of other cycle related purchases.
  21. Bud happy for you owning your own business and we are not telling you how to run it, we are simply giving you the view of the prospective purchaser/client who you should try and keep happy if you want your business to stay afloat. All that us "armchair CEO's" are saying is that 50k-100k is a lot of money to drop on something without going for a test ride and as such you run the risk of foregoing a sale to someone who does offer a test bike. Can you imagine going to a car dealer to buy a car and they won't let you take a demo model out for a test ride!!
