  1. Thanks DaleE - agree with you on both counts!
  2. Great to hear - thanks. Did you just put them on a hot frying pan?
  3. Roasted & Salted Nuts vs Plain. Is there any reason you should not be eating the former on this diet as I much prefer roasted and salted to plain and the carb and fat content seem similar.
  4. The "Latest Forum Posts" box also partially blocks my Home/News/Forums etc links
  5. Am I the only one not able to "follow" this thread. i seemed to have lost that functionality as well as my content, profile etc when I click on my name.
  6. Absolutely useless! I was only halfway through that thread. I see however that there are recovery specialists amongst us.
  7. Are those the Lyttleton based distributors?
  8. Just didn't want to sound too doff as I see there are Altitute 750's now but I have no idea how that differs to the 29er. I will now put my flame retardant suit on!!
  9. Hope this is the correct forum. I would appreciate some help here from our more informed Hubbers. I lost my bike recently, it was not insured, so decided to buy a "stand in" till I had time to do proper research, test rides etc before deciding what to buy for the long term. In the interim I bought a 2011 Rocky Mountain Altitude 29er from a mate. I am not too clued up on Rockys hence the mail as I want to insure this bike (I learnt my lesson) and I need to tell insurance what the current value (i.e. replacement cost) is but I am battling to find a 2013 version - have they been replaced by a new model. Not many suppliers of these bikes so I am a bit confused. I see there is a distributor in Lyttleton but thought I would go to the tried and tested Hub first. Any help would be greatly appreciated i.e. what the replacement model would be and the price.
  10. A also have 95% of the posts saved as a word doc. Anyway to replicate them on the Hub?
  11. Got chased by an ostrich on single track at Groenies!
  12. That is truly funny stuff - reminds of that show that used to be on called "When good pets go bad"
  13. StevieL hit the nail on the head
  14. I know I am reviving a very old thread here, those in the know, what would you advise iro safety, handling and comfort (for both cyclist and ankle snapper) - a front (Weeride) or rear (Giant) child seat. Or is it a much of a muchness?
  15. StevieL, give up the fight and just let Robox and his mates ride down the centre of the road, albeit just to the left of the median - my guess is they will be the hood ornament of a taxi sooner rather than later - but at least they were well within their rights whilst becoming said hood ornament!
  16. C0cktonsil is my new favourite word and it more than aptly describes the riders in the pic. What is worrying is that from reading the comments a large portion of the roadriding community seem to see nothing wrong with this -their opinion I suppose. But I think it is safe to say that the behaviour in the picture explains (not that it is right): - Why so many cyclists get knocked over by cars - Why Cradle residents put out tacks - Why readers on "motor" forums hate cyclists When are you going to learn that even if you are not in the wrong, which based on the behaviour I witness is highly unlikely, you are always going to be on the losing side ie taking a knife to a gun fight. So until a time comes that the only threat to your physical well being is kryptonite - I suggest not going head to head with a car. But hey, your call. Huge generalisiations in my post but it is directed to those who ride in a similar fashion to the aforementioned c0cktonsils.
  17. Should you not be playing rugby or basketball instead of cycling? You are 2cm taller than South Africa's tallest rugby player ever - where do you buy your clothes?
  18. To get technical is "strict liability" not in terms of CPA ie it governs those affected by CPA and "vicarious liability" is found in common law ie governs everyone
  19. Abacus seems to be everywhere - several peope in my street use them and see their vehicles all over the place. That said the owner does live across from me so maybe I notice them for that reason. http://www.abacusgardens.com/

Slap two bags of 10kg dog food to your back and do the route again - whatever the difference is subtract that from this years time with an added 5% variance for the reduced body weight. That is my formula and I'm sticking with it!
  22. Tend to agree with Eldron on this one - people like this seem to think that having money exempts them from having to have regard for anyone else. All about me me me.
