  1. Congrat Gummi - looking forward to your feedback.
  2. How do you rate the E8 for home use?
  3. Boring for some of you perhaps, but continuing to really enjoy Shetland and The Crown on Netflix. Also liked the first three of fours episodes of 'Fat Salt Acid Heat'', will watch the last one soon, not hard core cooking but useful. (Not hard core TV viewers as you can see )
  4. ..Comfort Cat..

    Who remembers?

    Long ago and far away...
  6. I'm happy with the Severin, but I'm no expert. I brew with V60, French Press, and Moka Pot and it caters for all of these. I make 2 - 4 cups daily. As mentioned above, static can be a problem but a few judicious knocks on the counter top, or especially a (dedicated) narrow brush sorts it out. Overall I'd recommend.
  7. ..Just not worth it...believe me..
  8. Hi Sawyster...thanks for the thought and the post...this is my first visit to this thread for a month... Went into a deep funk after I was "that close" to making the bank transfer for a low mileage pre-owned Versys 300 and my dear wife brought me back to reality by mentioning that it was a lot of money for a "nice to have" and "what about the next car?" Well, that was the destruction of a life-long dream . But, there is some wisdom to it since we have a lot on the go at the moment, so I will just have to wait for another opportunity, just hope it's in this lifetime!!
  9. Thanks Spokey, that is exactly the ad that is tempting me at the moment...!
  10. Hmm, interesting. Tx.
  11. More upright, therefore more relaxed, which is my main aim right now. Also I'm 179cm and weigh 98kg dry and so I think the Versys will be more suitable size-wise for me, as opposed to the 390 Duke for example. I also may want to ride on some easy dirt roads.
  12. Belated thanks to everyone who posted after my Versys 300 question, you all make valid points. Being newly retired I''m currently not commuting to any great extent, so I'm looking for something that is nimble, has a little poke, and will not be intimidating to learn on. I want to enjoy myself and not be scared sh!tless. If, after I have become comfortable with my riding abilities I feel the need to go further and faster I will then address the upgrade issue. I know this is a financial risk, but I think there is greater risk in trying to learn on something too powerful and unwieldy for a noob. Having said all that....I still have to convince myself that buying a motorcycle is a priority..
  13. Does anyone have any experience of the Kawasaki Versys 300? I've researched this bike quite extensively and it looks like an ideal first powered two wheeler for me, newly retired, with a lifelong desire to own and ride a motorcycle. I've sat on one and sizing feels right, not too small and not too big either. Can't test ride until I renew my Learner's licence though.
  14. Thanks, have never heard of Sportsdonkey, but Google is our friend
  15. It's possibly been covered in the previous 59 pages but.....it's F1 and MotoGP that keeps me wedded to DSTV Premium What are the streaming options, if any?
  16. The Versys 300 is at the top of my want-list right now, it would be my first motorbike. Anyone have any experience of this bike?
  17. What an expression..
  18. Determined dachsies will get what they want!
  19. It's raining in CT today..?
  20. Best wishes to you both, looking forward to reading your posts in 2018.
  21. I just think of it as coffee with foamed milk, nothing classic
  22. Thanks for your input V12. In fact I'm not making true cappucino, but rather adding frothed milk to a standard cup of V60 brewed pour-over. There is a moka pot in my future though
  23. Thanks very much for the guidance. I would to make cappucino and flat white, the simplest one first, whatever that is..?
  24. How can you call a dachsie a moron..
  25. OK then. After much cogitation I've just treated myself to a Bialetti Tuttocrema milk frother. What experience and/or suggestions regarding:- - type of milk? - temperature (will be heated on a a gas hob). - milk quantity per cup of coffee? - minimum quantity that can be prepared (enough for a single cup?) Looking forward to your input.
