  1. Sounds like a wonderful person. RIP and Condolences to family and friends.
  2. Northcliff Cycles
  3. Terribly sad. R.I.P. Condolences to family and friends.
  4. There is something that has not been directly mentioned yet, which I think is important - the design and quality of the retention system (i.e straps and fastener), and it's adjustability. Not only does this factor contribute to comfort, but also to keeping the thing on your noggin when it all goes wrong. My view is that the 'better' helmets are likely to be superior on this score than cheaper helmets. I have a Bell Ghisallo and really value the ability to easily adjust the fit whilst I'm riding
  5. Yeah, one would think that "The Disadvantaged' would be sensitive to that, but alas, no. Typical...
  6. OK, I see that there is an earlier post...
  7. From the New York Times:- http://www.nytimes.com/2010/05/21/sports/cycling/21landis.html?hp
  8. Linden and Northcliff
  9. Thanks for your responses so far guys, I'll certainly have a look at the sites suggested.
  10. I'm specifically looking for bib-tights for the Jhb winter.
  11. Can anyone recommend a good alternative to Chain Reaction for online purchases, in terms of both pricing and reliability? (I'm looking here for delivery to The Netherlands, so CWC does not apply) barrykm2010-05-07 02:30:47
  12. That is reassuring news.
  13. A normal-weight Buff in summer is not a problem, but it depends what you are used to though. Way better than perspiration running into your eyes.
  14. Optical inset works fine in Rydons - go for it.
  15. Try this:- http://www.wunderground.com/global/stations/68368.html Quite handy to look at the Hourly forecast section - it gives some indication of the timing of rain.
  16. Great looking bike Dan - hope you have a great season, I look forward to reading about it in Ride.
  17. If it's taken a hit you must replace.
  18. If you are heavy and unfit....go for the triple. (..waits to shot down...)
  19. I have a pair of Rudy Photo Clears and was also concerned that they would not be dark enough for bright conditions, but David #7 has hit the nail on the head. They do not turn very dark but they are absolutely fine for riding and there is no eye fatigue. In effect you will have two glasses in one - clear for before sunrise and then of course shades for light conditions. Highly recommended, don't hesitate!
  20. Terribly sad. I only met Alan once, briefly earlier this year, a very nice guy. R.I.P.
  21. Quite happy with Squirt.
  22. If the road is busy, yes. No sense in hacking-off the already aggressive motorists, which is what you are going to do by riding abreast. That is the reality, regardless of equal rights as road users. If there is not enough room for a car to pass single file cyclists safely then you are taking excessive risk riding on that stretch of road, and the group should at least take cognisance of that and break up into smaller groups until road conditions improve.
  23. Thanks Holy - what we need is their system and our weather.
  24. God Bless!
