Campy has specific RDs for it's Triple range. Are the long and short RDs perhaps not to do with the different requirements of regular and compact carnksets?

They keep the cycle shops in business, and feed the used-bike market... I too have ownership aspirations way beyond my ability and fitness level { not to mention pocket..} but when the time comes to indulge myself I certainly won't go over the top, but rather for a bike that provides a sense of pride in ownership.

I would have expected a few more cycle brands to have been represented..? Where were Giant, Bianchi, and Raleigh? I fell in love though with Wiliers, the Mortirolo looks great to me

Try emailing the developers: saws [at] futureforesight.com They used to be very responsive, but that was when only a few people were using the new site and their forum was not that busy. Give it a try, you never know. I see the negative comments are flooding in now... These guys seem to know what they are doing. Just unfortunate that the design they are implementing is so graphic intense, compromising functionality in the process. I do like some of the features though, like the Google Earth part. They should have saved all the graphical overlays for the Google Earth interface and left the rest as normal text tables. Thanks, I do usually receive similar confirmation emails from other sites. If I haven't had a response today I will try contacting the developers, as you suggest.

I use the old site regularly, albeit just for simple stuff like max/min temps and rain forecasts. Yesteday I decided to register on the new site and I'm still waiting for the confirmation email...! Will just have to try again!

What thoughts on the value offered, and of either of these two bikes for recreational club riding and finishing at the back of roadraces? Agree about the day/night versatility of Rudy Photochromatic Clear lenses.

I have Rudy Rydons with the Photochromatic Clear lenses, which I wear with prescription inserts; a great setup, I am delighted with them. The Photo Clears are like having two sets of glasses in one - they are perfectly clear for riding outside of daylight hours, and quite adequate for day-time riding as well, although I may be tempted to get to get a set of 'daylight' Photo or Photo/Polarised lenses at some stage in the future, but for my needs right now the Photo Clears are fine.

I agree with Eugene's original post - Bicycling SA magazine is becoming increasingly disappointing. Ride SA is way ahead in my view although it could do with more formal bike and equipment reviews
