  1. ...people swim in Hartbeespoort Dam.. !!??
  2. I'm a Linden Cycle fan, I was well advised by Jonene when I started out, but what I have found is that you have to be a little 'pushy' to get someone's attention, especially when it is crowded.
  3. Go for pre-owned at this stage. Find a good cycle shop and discuss with them, in fact do the rounds of a few cycle shops and discuss. I can strongly recommend Linden Cycles for a start, Jonene has helped many beginners on their way with sound advice. Don't forget that you must allocate part of your budget for cycling gear, with a properly fitting helmet as your first priority Best wishes

    Overload

    No carbon fibre there...
  5. Great story Intern!
  6. FIA has banned the use of DRS in the Monaco tunnel - probably sensible....
  7. Very nice
  8. Disagree, I like the black version, slightly retro...
  9. If you are prepared to wait and take the security risk then this is far the best way - you have the total collection to view and to choose from:- http://www.buffwear.co.uk/pages/welcome-to-buffera-ltd.php First prize from a security perspective is if you know someone in UK/Europe who is coming to ZA, then have it delivered to them.
  10. Also consider mudguards for a touring bike.
  11. Dear Jonene - Congratulations, what an achievement - the good you have done cannot be measured! Best Wishes from all at Cresta Wheelers.
  12. ...a Push Bike then.. (someone had to say it!) Seriously though, enjoy your new bike!
  13. Originally liked # 1, but now prefer #4.
  14. # 1.
  15. This is a dreadful thing to have happened. RIP to the young chap, and condolencs to family and friends.
  16. I actually wear both. I started off with Sweat Safe a year or two before ICE ID was launched. Sweat Safe is not much good to anyone apart from those paramedics who are familiar with it, and perhaps the first people who get to you in the event of an accident are not paramedics, so then ICE ID will be useful in those cases. ICE ID's customer service is great.
  17. Essential for newbies to go to a good shop and get informed advice.
  18. Terrible news. Condolences to family and friends.
  19. Well done all.
  20. Fabulous Cancellara and Eddy Merckx.
  21. FFS is another useful one....

    Shingles

Well, I hope you recover as soon as possible, which may be more than a few days. I had it ten years ago, it is not trivial.

    Shingles

Azonic - see a doctor to get the appropriate meds, dont muck about with Shingles. There's no short or easy recovery, but at least be taking the right stuff.
  24. Bibs cope much better with the spare tyre....
