  1. Scotty you can always join us if your not in to racing. It will purely be social outing.
  2. HR, HR..... Why did I expect that response. It takes us back to DD Kentucky comment<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Talking about ditches and streams have you fixed you Sunn SS yet. That is one cool bike.
  3. I am in for the Parys 24h and have already roped in my brother and my MOTHER, so HR will have to stay on his bike, no detours into streams etc, if he does not want to be beaten by a Oumatjie.....
  4. Wow, touchy........ The Jock route as lots of "MT"(mountains) and it is on a B(ike) soooooooo does it make it a MT(B) event??
  5. 19 July also clashes with the Jock<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
  6. Bored Girl, I am starting to get the same impression that it is two different events. I tried to check if I could find any info on the 19 July race but so far there is nothing.<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Scotty, the 19 April one is in Parys. 8. Ewep, They are my current background.
  9. <?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Even the entry level Racing 7 look extremely cool.
  10. SwissVan, The ride would be even better when you inflate the rear tire.<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> I am glad you like the frame because I impulsively got the same one a few weeks ago. I am still deciding how to build it (in other words I don?t have money now). Here is mine....
  11. How about the tyres were using for stage 1 to 4? Except is it is raining of course!
  12. I am injoying my Conti Mountain Kings.
  13. Same problem. <?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Paid but the site still say I haven't. So I am hoping it is only a site problem. Don't know if I should mail them to find out what going on. I would really have appreciated a simple email stating they received your application and payment and that the License is in the mail.
  14. So sad, his site is the best.

    Latex

The "stories" that I have heard is that the European guys on the epic that using latex had lots of problems with flats.
  18. Better value for money? Lets see <?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Entry fee: Comrades R170 IM R2200 (including SS card thing) Equipment: Comrades R2000 IM R15000+ (That is only if you don?t buy a proper Tri bike) Travel cost: About the same. Doing the event, priceless? I was not interested in the Pasta evening and award ceremony due to having a wife and small children that needed to be kept happy. I definitely work on the swim for next year. I will also check the entry fee next year. If is too high, which seams to be the most likely the case, I rather add some money and do an Int Ironman like the Swiss, <?:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />FranceoN> or GermanyoN>. One that preferably has the swim section that is NOT in the sea. Ox_Wagon2008-01-04 06:28:42
  19. I hope the sea is better this year. I got nailed by it last year and did not make the swim cut off <?:namespace prefix = v ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:vml" /><?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />. I am sitting out this year trying to sort out runner?s knee that I picked up with last years training for Ironman. I am reduced to just cycling at the moment (waiting to be flamed). Must say I don?t like swimming and after last year hate it even more. With that background I must say I was expecting more from the event especially at the price. I still would like to do it once but currently rate the Comrades higher and definitively better value for money.
  20. I don't think there should be a problem if both are 160mm.
  21. Then we also met last year. Have not been on the RW forum for ages.
  22. Talk to Cervelo.
  23. Thanks for info. <?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> With my budget I am reduced to choosing between a second hand FS 26" bike and a new 29" HT. At the moment I am still wondering about the benefits of the 29" Ht over a 26" FS. If I had to choose between new 26" and 29" full FS I would definitively go for the 29er.
  24. Your Titus and the odd GT SS are the only 29ers I have seen in G<?:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />auteng. So I gesstimating the price of the full sus frames from US prices. They range between $1500 and $2000. This includes Titus (Alu), Ventana and Intense. Out of experience a 10x ratio gives you an ball park idea for the price in ZA. That will give you about R15000+ range for the frames. The cheapest full sus 29er I could find was Voodoo Conza for about $890. I also doubt if you will be able to get a GF Hifi 29er (Complete bike) for less than R25000<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> On the other hand you can pick up a On-One 29er HT frame for less than R1000 from Chainreaction and Solomon?s was advertising GF HT for R6000 a while back. I have been wondering about that GF HT but have sort of set my hart on a Full susser. I dont know if the upgrade from a 26" HT to a 29" HT would make such a big diffrence. What is the ball park price for the RIP and ALU Titus Raser X frames? Ox_Wagon2008-01-03 04:13:13
  25. Talk to TitusTI he races a cool Titus 29er. Also check the following. https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=20188&PN=3 http://www.mtbr.com/spotlight/29er/ I am not sure about the hype. I would like to test ride one some day. At the moment only a small number of manufactures make them and most of them are smaller specialized brands. In short if you don?t go for rigid single speeds they simply cost too much. I don?t have R15000+ (Corrected) lying around for a full susser frame only. Ox_Wagon2008-01-03 04:23:12
