  1. Also converted to a compact crank and it is the best upgrade I have done. It is great for races like D2D and Race for Victory and any race with Hekpoort in it. I am running a 50/34 with ether a 12-23 or 12-25. I would not mind a 26 or 27 for the more hilly races. I am a MTBer missing his granny gear. <?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Pros: Lighter than a standard crank. Better spread of gear ratios. You can cycle up hills while other are pushing there bikes up. Cons: You may run out of speed at the top end due to 50. My experience as been by the time I hit any down hill where I run out of speed I simply go in to an aero tuck. So if you are not a sprinter it should not be a problem.

  5. That is why I am not following/watching pro cycling anymore. This year?s Tour de France was the last straw. Let them go on with their charade. I will cycle because I like it.<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Ox_Wagon2007-11-01 06:44:35
  6. Sadly not. A guy fell asleep behind the wheel and he killed two runners. He was ?very sorry? in court and got off with a slap on the rist (R10000 fine). <?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

  16. I think it is "which", made that mistake a couple of times. Otherwise it will have to be black with stars and moons painted on it. It will most probably have a broomstick zipped tied to the top tube. <?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> On a more serious note. Scott Genius is in the same travel range. Mervin (Centurion) has a special on Reign 6? travel (old stock).

  25. There is a bit of fat, but not much, so may be possible to cut it to R20 000 which is still more than double the budget. <?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> The CFO does no sound happy even with the lower figure?? What does your friend want for his frame (does it have V brake bosses)??. 80mm of travel is still 80mm more travel than my hardtail.
