siamesekatz Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 (edited) Will there be 5 bold aswell as 4 bolt chainrings? Edited June 28, 2013 by siamesekatz
Caerus Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 Will be very interested to see what you come up with.Don't know what cutter you are using but how hard would it be to copy some Ali dropouts? It would not be hard at all. I have a waterjet & 3 CNC routers at my disposal so anything is possible
Tuxstir Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 It would not be hard at all. I have a waterjet & 3 CNC routers at my disposal so anything is possible What material are you thinking of using? I have made a chainring before out of a soft grade aluminuim but within 200km is was chewed so smitharians, I have a design for some custom chain rings I would like cut out of 3mm S/S Â
Hairy Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 it cost me about R100 to cut a basic design including material if not less then thatAny chance of getting a 34t and 36t ring with a 104 BCD?
Hairy Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 S/Steel would be the choice of material for me please.
Dirtbreath Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 I'm with Hairy. Or I'd be keen on some of those nice sprockets but bigger, say 21 - 23 teeth.

On Monday when I have a bit more time to spend doing research, I'm going to find out about the correct Ali to use. I'll keep you posted as I know more info. Â If anyone has any ideas of what they want they can send me a sketch or digital drawing in DXF format to Myself at orders@rindrouting.co.za.
divernick Posted June 28, 2013 Author Posted June 28, 2013 Most ali chainrings for SS use are made from 7075.... Caerus 1

Pieter1 Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Soon to be completed... The momsen will donate some parts to "The flying Dutchman". Since I'm first generation Dutchman South Africa I thought my bike should pay some kind of a tribute to my heratige, hence the color scheme. I can't wait to put this puppy together!! Meezo 1
Thug Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Plasti Dip Thug? Yebo. Red for the fork and Smoke for the frame. Gave the frame a coat of matt black first though.
