I have a stem and handle bar - Easton EA (its a matt silverish colour) 31.8 mm * 685mm with 9 deg sweep, the stem matches the handlebar and both are brand new as they were swapped out by the distributor when I purchased the bike last year. I don't have the stem length, sitting in Dubai at the moment but can check on Thursday morning.

Also have a white Rockshox Tora, straight steerer and QR

I can also try and get brand new alu handlebars, stems and posts if you want (really ridiculous prices if there is still stock) in white

Raab, lets chat when you are back in the country. Stem and handlebar sounds good.

Thanx for all the help guys.

No worries, you can take them free of charge. We can sort out the details on thursday, do you have a saddle and brakes?

Noob build question:

Do I require one of those headset presses to install the headset?

or will a plastic hammer and some straight hitting do the trick?

take it to your LBS and ask them to do it, is a 5 min job.

else you can make your own headset press with a 300mm M12 threaded rod and nuts, some washers and I use some wood inside the washers so that is metal on wood rather than metal on metal. You can get all from a hardware store or builders warehouse

no and no. Get a bit of threaded bolt, 8mm minimum and some LARGE washers. Then put the threaded bolt through the head tube, and compress the headsets in to place. You CAN use the hammer, but if you absolutely must and no other option is available to you, put a block of wood (bigger than the headset) and use that to distribute the force more evenly across the perimeter of the headset.

As I said - you CAN, but that doesn't necessarily mean you SHOULD.

As a better option, I'd take it to your LBS and ask them to fit the headset for you. If you can't find big enoug washers for your headset.
