I use a hammer and a block of wood. Doesn't mean that you should though. I place the headset cups in the freezer for 5 min before the job so they contract and slide in easier. I also grease the inside of the head tube.

I've done it before as well (successfully), not again.

 

There are a couple bike shop by my office or on the way in and have been quite good about letting me use the headpress tool.

 

It's an excuse to chat about riding and bikes

A huge THANK YOU to raab, i just picked up some goodies from him, getting me closer and closer to having my bike ready to ride.

He insisted that i dont owe him anything for the parts.

Help!

 

Trying to convert my bike to a single speed. There is currently a XT cassette on the hub and it won't come off. The lock nut is very very tight. I have the rights tools and just can't seem to get it off.

 

Any suggestions?
