Doesn't mean that you should though. I place the headset cups in the freezer for 5 min before the job so they contract and slide in easier. I also grease the inside of the head tube. I've done it before as well (successfully), not again. There are a couple bike shop by my office or on the way in and have been quite good about letting me use the headpress tool. Craig8252 Posted February 19, 2014 Share Help! Trying to convert my bike to a single speed. There is currently a XT cassette on the hub and it won't come off. The lock nut is very very tight.
