Just a silly question for the SS guys and girls. Why do the respray thing on the bikes. Is it just the cult of SS thing?

I am way to lazy and poor to re shoot the bike. Taking of the paint job might be an option, but I will rather try and polish the Alu to make the bike shine than re shooting it with a Matt black.

Oh and starting my own SS bike soon.

Have an old Scott Speedster S at my folks. Have a riser bar to replace the drop handles. Ordering a chain tensioner and thinking of going with a 42 x 16 combo (might change the 42 to something less as speed is not a factor as this is going to become my commute bike.

Only other problem I have staring me in the face is tyre choice. I am looking for something robust that will fit in the fork (Some carbon fork)

I am thinking of getting a set of Tandem tubes from my dad or just sourcing it form my LBS (in Elloff)

Just feeling very lazy to repaint the bike. Might make it a winter project for 2014 - 2015

That is the nice thing about a SS build ...... simply play with it and do what you want, no rights or wrongs

So. Because he is super awesome Mr. Bogusone set me up with this frame and some parts.

Sadly i got a tapered steerer fork instead of a straight.

This xc30 is basically brand new (apart from chilling in my garage for a year)

Anyone wants to swap forks?

A rigid would be awesome... Any black fork one will do though...

Bud easier option. And cheaper would be to get a bottom headset cup like this....

It will raise the headtube a fraction as the bottom bearing will basicly sit under the headtube and not inside the headtube as it currently does but you will be able to use your existing fork.
