Cannot agree more - a lot of cars being silver and black is really becoming "meh". Except that the chevron sponsor is no longer welcome in F1.

Ferrari even had to change their logo whilst the sponsorship was still in place but kept the outlines "close enough" to still resemble "big M" involvement in the team. Might actually still be in place, from there the Scuderia Ferrari block logo on the engine cover.

If they really want to stand out, they should go back to their original scheme of orange.

Still in place, yes.

What did chevron do? I was not born for the orange era.

There's no tobacco sponsorship allowed in F1 any more.

Started off fairly small where in some countries only banned the advertising. So you'd see things like West being called East (on Zakspeed) or driver names in same fonts for West (McLaren). Big M usually used stripes, sometimes team names. Rothmans came up with a couple of nice alterations through the years. The Jordan B&H always tended to be full of initiative. Mild Seven also did some interesting ones at times, some rather boring ones too.

Then later the full ban on tobacco advertising.

And back to orange - up to early 2000's you'll see Macs at times ran their test cars in a orange and black livery. More often than not I preferred that livery!

Here's an example, think this was about the last time they ran like this (as far as I can remember)

And here's Denny Hulme running at Monaco back in the day...

Jordan F1 did it best with their Benson & Hedges sponsorship

Yeah, loved their ideas!

In the snake year (Jordan 197) it was Bitten & Hisses with the B&H on sidepod being modified to look like snake skin as well, also with the driver names with multiple S's: Sssschuey and Fisssssi.

What's your verdict then?

The way I see it Hamilton was over-eager. Rosberg got the better of him with an amazing move and he saw red. Yes Rosberg ran him out wide but he made his one allowed move. For me it was Hamiltons fault, he thought he could intimidate Rosberg and this time it didn't happen. I can see how it could be seen differently though.

I say good call. How great was it to not know who's going to win until they've only crossed the line.

I'll have me some more of THAT F1.

You must admit thought that Ricciardo was royally screwed by the strategy they chose for him. Yes Verstappen drove well and deserved the win but had Ric been on a 2 stopper I believe he would've won.
