Ric ran? Not wanting to be Max' lapdog while the whole team exclusively focus on max is hardly 'running' don't ya think

I love the fact that Ric prevented Max from getting the clean sweep at the last race, by posting the fastest lap.

Poetic justice.

I think any teammate of Max will have a tough time. Not just on the track, but with Jos in the background your mental game needs to also be top notch....

Well it was proven with Vettel and Webber that if you are not Helmut Marko’s poster child...you will have no chance of any support within the team behind closed doors. Webber said as much about Helmut, and even though him and Seb get along great these days, back then Helmut was the accelerator to that little fire. RB would love Ric back (him and max get along super well and Ric is a perfect fit to the RB brand, and they have said as much), but It will be the same for anyone joining Max as team mate now.

He is their chosen one, why Ric “ran”. Why Gastly was thrown under the bus. You cant expect to have an equal chance if the team is so openly biased towards one driver. Even Merc try and smooth it over by being alot more PC about it regarding HAM/Bot. We all know it, but Bottas doesnt lol. That says alot about how well they are treated internally imo.

Again, why someone like Perez would be perfect. He already had to endure two seasons next to someone he full well knew was the bossman’s son. He just went by his business and got the job done. Lawrence strolls face and lack of celebration when Perez won the other weekend showed exactly what they think of him. He only cares for his kid. I have a sneaky suspicion if Vettel doesnt find his mojo next year, he is being used to make Stroll Jr look like the business - ( abke to hold his own against a 4x wdc and all).

But i digress. How Albon has not suffered the same fate and public ridicule as some of his predecessors is proof that a certain Thai family very high up has some sort of pull in this specific instance.

I know it is a necessary evil, to have a number 1 &2 driver. I just wish it could be a case of both drivers getting exactly the same kit and support/technical staff capabilities.

That is when racing lost it to politics/corporate.

I feel MotoGP has managed to find it's way back to a position where everyone is on fairly similar spec equipment. The staff is different in the factory teams but with the satellite teams running the previous years kits WITH all the data that helps level that out.

There are also smaller gaps between the different teams due to better rules.

F1 may get better with the 2022 rules but I doubt it very much. The problem with F1 is that the bigger, established teams have too much say.

Has it been confirmed yet?

Speedworld.com (Red Bull’s own media site) last night. But Red Bull has not made an official statement.

Apparently perez knew last week already, and albon got a phone call right before the announcement.

Ouch lol.

Happy for Perez.

Eina, that is a rather k@k one. But then again Perez got that same treatment with Vettel knowing beforehand and him finding out in the days before the announcement, apparently, lol.
