DJR Posted September 8, 2013 Share Amazing airplane that Lightning. I understand that it still holds the record for fastest altitude gain, 50 years on and against modern aircraft. Scared the living daylights out of me once when it came over at treetop hight and I was sleeping late one morning. It is LOUD. I've never gone from sleep to fully awake quite so fast. Almost left skidmarks. Nice picture with the E-Type, both beautiful and probably the pinnacle of British design and innovation. (yes grammar, I know) Similar but hers was a mountain bike tricycle. Mathilda has now graduated to a road bike tandem and a mountain bike tandem.
