Nice, what did you shoot with?

7dmk2 on a 100 - 400 mm, hand held.

Need to calibrate screens as on my screen it looks to "white" and over exposed. While on my develop screen it looks perfect.

Had more time with this guy to get it right. With the Coral Trees and Tree Fuscia's in flower there were several different ones flying around.

So managed to take my time on this one. Would have preferred a more open background. With all the light I had I could have brought the fstop down one or two stops to blur the background even more, but I was happy with this as a first real attempt.

But I like that this shows how the bird fits in with the environment. Often this is how we see them, in a bush, not always against a blue sky.

Back in 2013

Apparently their model has changed a bit .... putting it further out of reach of those paying in Randelas ...

Pity, as it REALLY is a bucket list item for any amateur photographer !!

Their guides KNOW where the spots are.  Grant makes sure they line up correctly for the best lighting, etc etc .... 2 to 3 hours at sunrise, and again at sunset ..... downloading pics, charging batteries, Grant is available to provide assistance with camera settings, photo editing .... it is a 5 day adrenaline HIGH !!    :w00t:

Few local pics I took with Grant in Helderberg (he lives in the Western Cape when not on safari...)  Grant and Riaan was testing Mark 1 vs Mark 2 lenses ....

Wow ! I need your salary and your contacts!

At $10 000 a trip (R150 000) give or take for a few days is just a touch out my budget.

I do follow his work and have wanted to do a trip with him before. But unless I win the lotto it is not likely to happen.

PS Muchly jealous! Sounds like an awesome trip

Another SA company that looks pretty legit is Wild Eye. Would love to take a trip with them. Attended a Canon Roadshow a couple of years back where one of their guides gave a presentation.

Unfortunately also geared towards the Overseas people a bit more, but still a nice bucketlist item to have!

Back in 2013 we paid just over R35k for the five days (for both of us), ALL inclusive in Kasane.

Getting there was the only extra cost, we linked that to a 4x4 trip.

Super glad we did it, but absolutely no way we would be able to afford it today.

An ex-MD (of one of sister divisions) left to start his own wildlife photography tour company. He’s now living the Masai-Mara.

Not sure of the costs, but worth every cent, based on two people I know that went.
