Westdene Cycles Poor Customer Service.

Hmmm.... just to browse! Wish I had the time /money to browse. At the moment its just a waste. The problem was that 3 guys were standing around, and not one offered to assist. I had the same at a guitar store. 3 guys chatting, I'm standing , checking out what would be nice... they saw me, and did nothing. Haven't gone there since! At my  lbs, if someone else walks in, they ask if they can help. So ya, we all have our terrible habits. Oh, and you get the nuisance guys. I remember when my cousin worked at Cajees , when you walked in there you were "attacked" by 4-5 shop assistants. that was a nuicanse.

it nice to gun down cajees,but they the once that will help you when your so call lbs lets you down.they the one that gives good prices, tell it the way it is does not bull sh*t you around.they working on the service part and i have been dealing with the princess crossing branch and fatima goes out of her way to help .

Want some attention in a guitar shop? Just take the most expensive Gibson off the wall and start hammering on the strings...it works everytime...

I don't think its right to be trashing a business in these threads for something so fickle as some guy not  being fawned over the minute he walks into the shop. In fact, I think its abuse.

I guess every person's experience is different.

But I have bought a few bikes from Westdene, and in so doing have travelled a fair distance to do so to.

 

The service is probably not the greatest in terms of rushing up to you as you walk in the store, but if you just simply ask someone for something the service is always pretty good, with decent advice and really good prices as well as always helping out with exchanges and that kinda thing.

 

I think they have gained far more business from other shops than they have lost. 4 Bikes later, and it will more than likely be the shop I get my 5th from...

It's called freedom of speech. Heard of it, it's ensconsed in the constitution.

 

We are all cyclists on the forum, we look after each others interests.

 

If a shop gives us good service we tell everyone about it, if they give bad service we do the same

Stange, Faried Steward and Justin were busy with me for over an hour on Sat at the said time and not once do I recall anyone asking for help with wheels or the like. Charlie and Dylan were hell busy selling mountain bikes and the like to some customers. The story will always remain the same from certain customers when it comes to Cajees Westdene Cyclelab and Solomons yet when Linden needs items they don't have in stock who do they call Faried or Fatima. I know as I am in either shop most days .

At Westdene most customers only want to be served or helped by Steward or Faried which is their preference hence the other youngsters wait for the customer to ask for help( This makes YOU the customer not feel like you been harrassed by over eager saleman)
The Customer might be King BUT is not always right.Simple rule not happy go where you feel happy and get everything done at your wim.

 

THIS IS SO UNTRUE, i know the guys at Linden Cycles they cycle for 5 years with me, and Westdene Cycles is a no no, and why do you have to ask for help, that is so stupid, i took my fisrt bike there 2 and they could not fix the problem, Linden did it fisrt time, and Westrand Cycles to, they rocks, but westdene sucks, go girl

And we it is no secret that we all got OUR lbs that we always return to . So one day when you walk into another one and don't get the service you expect to get you come and tell us . I know it is very unfair but this will surely reach the ears of the LBS and they will surely adres the matter . And after the dust has settled and all is forgiven and forgotten you got a LBS that hopefully improved on whatever they needed to improve on . There has been complaints about "my" LBS on here a few times and I am the first to run to them to tell them, about it , and they are very happy to hear about their short comings !

I get that, and have no issue with freedom of speech. But when we come here to name a business and then go ahead and trash it, do you not think it behoves us to treat the power of this forum with respect, and to acknowledge the damage that can be done. In this instance, I just think that Wannabe's public  reaction is overkill, and is totally out of proportion with the alleged "bad service" ....Its not as if they failed to honour a warranty obligation, or did a bad repair or anything. Had he just asked, I am sure he would have been atteded to. no??
