Thanks for the donation of this bike yesterday! Asterix88 brought it over and it's a real blast from the past!

Brigestone MB-5 with Exage Sport MTB groupset. It's all-original.

Museum piece right there. Wow its in good condition!

Another bike, this time a Gary Fisher MTB to a worthy recipient. Moffat used to walk for over 2 hours per day to work and back, or pay R30 per day for taxi fare. This bike has improved his quality of life!

Hey guys, I met a gardener today who rides from Delft to Pinelands once a week, and Delft to Newlands twice a week. He rides an old steel frame road bike and needs some tyres, as his are old, the sidewalls are cracking, and he keeps getting punctures. Does anybody have an old pair of usable 700c tyres? I am happy to pick up in the Southern Suburbs/City Centre/Camps Bay area.

I gather there isn't a Cape Town pickup spot, so this seems like a relevant non-hijack of this thread - can anyone help out?

One of the guys who received a bike a while ago brought it back to me complaining that the brakes aren't working. Here's why (the braking surface is facing up, BTW).

Quick pad-change and a bleed later, and all is stopping well again.

Nice work divernick  . You give a guy a bike for free and he brings it back complaining. Not jumping to conclusions but I will explode. :cursing:

I have two Mtb rims (v-brake rims) with tires and a 7 spd cassette in good condition if you are interested.

haha, to be fair he wasn't "complaining" hehe. He did about 5000km on those pads and they were 2nd hand when he got the bike!

I have a Raleigh road bike ( M ? ) that is approx 30 years old that needs a good home. It was never used during this period , but is stored in a tool shed. Had it serviced recently including new tyres. Missing saddle bag and chrome fenders . Normal wear and tear of a unloved bike in storage. Free to anyone with proof of small donation to FORA .Collect Roodepoort, West Rand Area
