I though so to traveling between Midrand and Sandton. The problem is the strings of taxis coming up from behind you, hooting and pushing past you while you are riding your mtb on the dirt off the road. Cannot avoid riding on the road between some sections on my commute to work and back, where everyone drives in the yellow lane, no place "off the road" to cycle on some of these sections to avoid this. I also don't want to ride some of the trails through some wooded sections alone with a laptop on my back and in case I get bike jacked, it's a bit to far from the road and I don't feel comfortable doing this, some spots will be easy to set up a surprise trap to bike jack a person alone on their bicycle, especially if you travel the route regularly (changing routes every day is not an option, to big of a detour and less safe even), I'm not going to take any chances.

Which direction do you commute in? If you go Sandton to Midrand in the morning, then you're welcome to join me.

Can't see in the picture. What's in the tyre?

that was the cut in the tyre.

About thumb size, so all the stans were left on the road.

Got a new cheap tyre. Will fit tonight or tomorrow.

Not sure if I like it when robots are out, sometime quicker to cross the intersection but have to cross with a car otherwise the other drivers just go for it.

On a lighter note... Don't get why my commute always turns into a race against myself, think I had my fastest commute home from work today, even after I told myself a couple of times to chill and slow down.

My commutes ends up being my interval training and my Saturday ride becomes my LSD rides to recover from my commutes ;)

I have a time set.  31 min from office to home.  That is the time it takes with the motorbike on good days.

Realized yesterday that running 1Bar of pressure in a tyre is not enough.  Took a turn and tyre moved way to much.  Scared the pee out of me.

Now at home busy with my new tyre, but the b***ch will not seat on the rim.  Tried everything.  Going to blast it with CO2 now.
