I've had a problem with Rufus not wanting to take shelter in his kennel but rather preferring the bare brick paving in front of the back door. All well and fine until the weather turns foul like at the moment in Cape Town, then the poor thing got all wet. He mostly sleeps indoors, but often has to spend part of the day outside when we are at work. So, this is my solution: I got Christie Sports to make a huge tent window and I stretched it over the alleyway in front of the back door and over his kennel. Now he has a nice and dry pad to hang out. Todays' weather tested it to the maximum and it works like a charm. In return he promised not to chew the fittings off the kayaks. Come summer, we can remove it.

INcredibly clever. I had one that was given to me when my uncle and aunt that moved to NZ. She thought herself to jump out the window through the burglar bars if she wanted to go outside and "make" and then come back in. Very affectionate and very caring. She also once went missing. We think she was stolen. Six months later we hear a scratch on the door and guess who!

Also very strong dogs in that they never get sick!

I think they're great, intelligent, friendly, tough as well, at least the one I had.
