This is truly humbling. Having adopted 2 dogs from a shelter always gives me some sense of satisfaction, but this lady makes it look silly by comparison. Makes you think, "what would I have done in those circumstances ? " ALL THE BEST to this lady and the ( now ) fortunate dog.

GUYS AND GIRLS!!!! You can help like I did!! This is what I do when I don't ride or run on the weekends. Perhaps some people just don't know how to help and reading the below can help you get started on the right track. The township dog owners, mostly young kids that actually love their dogs and cats are on a program. The Program includes ALPS feeding the dogs on a monthly basis by supplying the kids with Dog food blackets ect, giving food out to all Kids that have registered their dogs. What makes me sad is that the Kids waiting up to 10 Hours in the cold or heat with their dogs (that they love) don't have any food or water to drink. Mabie someone can help out a little with that? THIS WAS DONE ON SUNDAY WITH THE ALPS Group.

THANK-YOU for the food donations and donations – this is where your donations go.

What a successful day we had. We spayed and neutered 73 dogs and 1 cat and vaccinated, de-wormed and frontlined all that were operated on as well as around 50 puppies. We hospitalized 4 very sick dogs last night as well, they were placed on drips and meds upon their arrival just after 7am yesterday to stabilize them.

We also handed out safe leads to every Owner and confiscated all ropes and chains that dogs are tied up and or walked with!

We left the Township around 18h30 a very long and exhausting day, both mentally and physically. Kim and Dr Lorraine you worked so hard yesterday A BIG THANK-YOU!!!!!!

Next is the Woman’s Day Breakfast to raise funds on 6 September and our next Spay Day is being planned for 28 September.

We are always in need of food, please think about donating a bag or 2 of dog food every month and please ask your friends to collect as well as we need around 1000kg’s of dog food a month to feed the over 300 dogs we take care of. ALPS do two food drops a month and on the 27th july the dogs stitches will be removed and all will receive food J

God Bless you all

  Thanks for the PAWSOME article Undun! I was one of the fortunate volunteers who took part on the day at Etwatwa and I must say, between all the madness and sad little faces and doggies, there were little miracles being made, animals helped and young children from the township educated. What Alps does is out of the ordinary and if there are any Hubbers that would like to donate or help or do anything to assist, please check the contact details on Undun's post

Results will be announced 4 August.

Thanks once again for all the support, I am confident that our little girl would have stayed ahead.

Stuff like this makes my blood boil. :cursing: :cursing: :cursing: Assuming that these people are "educated" adults who knows that buying a puppy is a long term commitment? Makes me sick how people can give their pets away as if it is a old couch they dont want anymore. I'm very tempted in commenting but don't think it will do any good.

Same here Wil! Started typing, then rather deleted!
