Wot I dont understand if CSA are so useless...

Why does SA have so many great cycling events i.e. 2 previous mtb world cups, bmx world cups, mtb world champs 2013, Cape Epic, Argus, 94.7 the list goes on..... you whingers cyclists probably have more organised cycle event options on any given summer weekend than any other cycling nation on this planet?

Why does this discussion never end, ever year for at least the last 10 years that i can remember this "CSA are a bunch of ****s" topic pops up?

Why is the roadies dept. so far behind the mountain bikers wrt to world class events and results?

Why no one cares a crap about who "represents" them but cares enough crap to whinge about it every year?

Why unhappy CSA staff have to write crappy letters of resignation with all sorts of accusations and post it on the internet nogal...If things are as bad as you make out why dont you get real proof and make that available?

Just my honest and neutral opinion :)

There was a chance that the first two almost weren't going to go ahead, and can CSA claim credit for the latter two?

The latter 3... I don't think CSA would do justice to Argust, 94.7 or Epic. (or Pioneer trek, or S2C or...) ;)

Well in all fairness the TOSA is a clear indication that they don't have a cooking clue as to what they are doing.

My point exactly.

Well I would think that all organised cycling in SA falls under the auspices of CSA, whether that be direct or indirect.

Cycling in SA appears to be rather healthy looking at the last few years achievements, except maybe the road racing side which appears to be lagging behind compared to MTBking.

Wasn’t the “resignee” HL the director of road cycling, surely he bears some responsibility for the “said” situation, either lack of corrective action or lack of directorship?

This CSA are a bunch of tw*ts story is not new, so why is it taking so long for you lot to sort it out?

As one involved in some race organisation, I'd suggest that the prominence of cycling in SA is in spite of CSA, not because of CSA

Who can forget the problems the Kremetart orgs have had with CSA in the past.

Even in our little race, we've had to politely tell CSA to mind their own knitting, so to speak...

MTB is looking far healthier - maybe the reason for their press release.

Yeah read that, have always had a lot of respect for Mike. Arguably the best guy for the job, his heart has always been in it and he has a real love for the sport which grew under his tenure as MTB director.

Glad to see him back, the org and the sport needs people with his integrity.

MTB world cups, BMX, upcoming UCI masters road thingy, all Lenferna and co, with no involvement, beyond overseeing things, from CSA. Same with Worlds in 2013.

Epic - told CSA to get stuffed in the early days, again, the feds' involvement is now supervisory, nothing more. If anything, the Epic needs to be held responsible for the 'ease' with which the PMB world cup/champs stuff is happening - put SA on the UCI radar far more efficiently than CSA has ever done.

Argus, 94.7, pretty much the same.

All of these great events have been conceptualised, and driven, by non-CSA folk. That CSA is an umbrella over the whole lot, is incidental (incendiary? :)).

What HAS CSA had a hand in? Tour of SA - actually not bad in the end, but some seriously embarrassing mooments. SA Champs... lovely. anything else?

So, the reason why SA has so many events is because of great entrepeneurs like vermaak, lenferna, cycle tour, etc, and in spite of, often, the governing body.

Maybe....You need an ANC Apartheid ending type solution cause it sounds like you lot of pale faces are riding around in circles in your ox wagons and every year or so you stop, fire off a few shots and then get back to riding around in circles again.....
