92KGS AND PUMP TO 10 BARS

Most clincher rims can only handle about 8.5 bar around 125 psi before they can burst.

What wheels do you use at 10 bar and why?Tubbies or clincher?

snip snip snip

From personal experience, when I moved from tubed to tubeless my average speed increased instantly. Of course it was also combined with a change in tyre choice from 2.1 to 2.25. Running low pressure on wide tubeless tyres has to be experienced to be really appreciated. It made such a difference to my riding that I now have a sense of what it must be like to ride on EPO for the first time  .

I'm starting to get seriously 'naar' - I do all the things that everyone says will give you instant speed and better technical and alles (29r, tjoopless, no bar ends, obey the 'Angus rules', 32I, Futureproof cereal blah blah blah) and the only time I go faster is when I train harder, why just me

Ag shame :D

BTW who merged these threads? Some serious crossed wires happening now, with some people talking about road pressure and others mtb pressure in the same thread - two opposing discussions.

Off topic a bit (and yes, there is a search option, but I don't think this exact question has been asked)

HR & Minion Super Tackies, non tubeless, wire bead. Tubeless-able?

Oh - and XC bike is normally 30 at the rear. At the front, I've got a piddly little 1.95 tubed tyre for now, until I get my rim fixed (using my wife's wheel) and that has to be super hard as it has NO volume...

Yeah, it's been done. Depends largely on the rim as well.

Cool and everything, but what's with all the roadies posting on a MTB Tyre Pressure Thread? [While we are WAY off topic, most road rims and tyres can do 10 - 12 bar. 8.5 is quite low for a road tire.]

From what I understand, two threads got merged together. Then the thread changed names a couple of times. And now we have a bowl of spagetti.

Most road clincher rims can only handle a max of 8.5-9 bar but tyres can go up to 10 bar.

Zipp 404 can only take 125psi/8.5 bar max ;)

Easton can handle 9 bar max.

Bontrager 8.5 bar max.

Mavic 9 bar max

HED 9 bar
