Not convinced about Rory, would've given Phangiso a run, even if just to quiet the current boardroom vibes a bit ...

Alright lads, just signed up and always head to the cricket section when I sign up to a new forum :)

Cricket statistician and cricket graphics is what pays the rent, so if you've got any queries related to players, teams and records, give me a shout.

Solid day for the Proteas all in at a ground they - historically - have been poor at.

Yes

How about giving us the weight of the guys in the team.Rumour has it that Bif is clocking over 100kg.Can't believe captain of the number 1 team in the world has a fat ass like that.I feel the older guys really have become complacent.Sure they are good, but they could be soooo much better. How does Smith,Kallis and Rory pass the bleep test.Perhaps you could give us some inside info on what current level the guys are running at.

Amla is my man, focused and disciplined.

I can't give specifics as I work in the broadcast/TV side of things, but I can definitely give you some anecdotal info. I chatted with Bif about 6 months ago and he is an absolute unit. I was 88kgs at the time and he dwarfed me in every respect. Even his head is massive.

Having seen Faf train on countless occasions I've got no doubt that if he did the Cape Argus tomorrow he'd probably cruise it. The man is a machine.

My missus' brother did some cardio work with them a couple of years back and he was surprised at how low their fitness levels were.

So basically - drink loads, eat loads, become the best team in the world.

Not convinced about your cricket knowledge, not likely that Phangiso would make the test team on his sunfoil series record this year*. Kleinveldt has earned his spot by being up there for the past few seasons(when not smoking a blunt). Politicians should stay the f#$% away from Proteas cricket, it's the most representative side we've got in ANY sport. and hey, they're number 1 too. I'd like to see more people complaining about the lack of coverage, especially today. For those without dstv, you're stuffed. No live cricket on tv, and then they cut away from the Radio 2000 broadcast for 2 hours for the ANC 101 birthday hoopla. This is broadcast live on:

sabc 2 tv

radio (umhlobo fm, lotus fm, radio 2000 and safm..plus many more i'm sure)

Maybe there would be more poor blacks in the national side if their kids could follow it, all we got was some lunchtime delayed broadcast for an hour where the boys scratched around with not much going on.

ja ja, this is old news. I don't think it's as bad as it used to be, Kirsey wouldn't stand for it. Once did the knysna half(~2009/2010), when bouch and biff were giving it a go. ran the last few kays with boucher who did about a 1:45, said it was way harder than a 5day test. Biff struggled through for about a 2:30. This was when they had just signed up with KFC.

*that's a trick chirp, he actually doesn't play the 4day game for the lions. if you want a black guy in the team(at the expense of a coloured guy then go for Thami Tsolekile(who's in the outfield this week-end with de kock wearing the gloves) or maybe new kid on the block Aya Gqamane who's taken 20 wickets in 3 games. Remeber that name(once you can pronounce it),

for those who enjoyed the debate on whether biff should declare or let Elgar get his maiden century, enjoy this painful video. Atherton declares with Hick on 98*. probably the most controversial declaration ever in terms of personal milestones.

for the record Hick got 98* off 166, Atherton got 60 odd off the same amount of overs earlier. the match was drawn

NZL is just awful.

I love cricket. I feel so cheated with these sub standard teams. Hopefully pakistan will put on a better show next month. I hope so, I want to take the kids to the wanderers test.

Well, looking at what they've done against India it should be good. One of the guys on BVP (kyknet), I think, said the other day NZL standard is basically with Bangladesh!!!! Thats how bad they are at this stage.

Couple if early wickets, hopefully NZ will try to bat again before drinks!

Wagner doesn't look happy with his dismissal, maybe he is just unhappy being in NZ ... ;-)
