Yep, I was a victim too! Must have picked it up somewhere between Something Country and Avianto. Just heard fssss every time my wheel went around - luckily it was slow enough that I managed to get to the garage just after you cross the Crocodile river and head up that beast of a hill towards Carnivores.

Not that it's a fantastic excuse but when you see how the two major clubs behave in the Cradle it's no wonder someone is throwing tacs in the road. I feel ashamed to be on a bike when I see how they ride, spilling into the oncoming traffic lane. A real shame!

+1. Quite sad to see how badly behaved some cyclists are.

i can't believe the increase in volumes of cyclists in the Cradle area. Besides the 2 big clubs you have other club rides, social groups, the Tri groups.etc,etc. i suppose the question is where else do you ride if you live in the Northern suburbs. perhaps the 2 big clubs can stagger thier starting times and alternate every week? Might ease a bit of congestion, it becomes pretty congested when one group overtakes another.

Could not agree more - from what I saw when driving out to Teak (when it was still open) I would have to say that a large portion of road cyclists are their own worst enemy.

I've seen lots of cycle lab bashing here lately but to their credit they are trying hard to do something about behavior of their members... Besides heaps of awareness etc, they will now be requiring members to ride with club issued plates so that culprits can be identified and even banned. Reality is at this time of hear about half the guys in CL kit will be on the roads until argus and then we won't see them again until about Nov... and it is true that as a result bunch riding deteriates accordingly

mmmmm maybe you guys should check to see which residents work at Waltons or CNA and start there. So many thumb tacks they must be getting a bulk discount from their suppliers.

Anyways the thumb tack in the picture looks like one which would be used in furniture or leather work of some sorts, not sure you can purchase those at your local stationery store.

I have an invention that might solve your problem here. It's a fork mounted broom/magnet that clips in front of your front wheel. It sweeps the road and catches anything metallic before you ride over it. The huge bonus is it picks up coins too, so you could very well end up at the Vida with a few rond collected. Do I hear "latte' " anyone?

So long as it does not "pick up" a three ton SUV ya nubbin !
