did a 3h14 today, what happened to the 97KM ?? i was hating life at 100km hahahahah

oh who can i thank for the medal/bottle opener lol...... shocking number pack and not much better medal!!

Glad I'm not the only one who did like 103 km then. Well organised race, I have to say. Didn't everybody get the LED lights with their 'race pack'?

Some woman came down hard, anyone know how she's doing?

A bit windier over the same 103km route than last year. Being a bit more unfit it made the route more challenging, if it wasn't for the tandem pair in Canada tops a lot of us would have suffered big time. The B bunch catching us A stragglers towards the end made for interesting times getting through the traffic, short route riders as well as one traffic officer who was a bit slow in clearing an intersection.

Was a good day on the bike though

That tandem rider was like a engine - then you guys dropped me unfortuantly for a lonely 10KM when the B bunch ccatching me enabling me to finish the ride in a decent time

Yes spoke to her husband - she's got concusion - fortunately MRI showed no serious damage - they are keeping her sedated and overnight in the hospital.

Thanks orgs, marshals and motorcycle escorts. The marshals manning Rondebult/Northrand road must have had their work cut out controlling the traffic.

Enjoyed the race albeit at a slower time than last year.

I thought everything was well organised, found the medals by accident on way back to the car. Real distance was probably closer to 106km, if you take the trek to the start/ finish into consideration. Only traffic issue was crossing over Rietfontein close to the end when a big a$$ truck decided to ignore the marshall. Almost got taken out by a rider in helivac kit near the end, who knows why he was sprinting for the line in the c/d bunch!

Hope you didn't sprint them at the finish ;-)

unlike the rest of the bunch, I let them finish ahead of me

My sister was in an accident I think about 35km into the race where a few fell that were unable to continue and had to go to hospital. They phoned the emergency number which is on our race numbers but it went straight to voicemail. I think this is unacceptable. My sister is fine but what if it was an even more serious crash. I don't know if we should blame the race organizers or the medic guys.

Not to make light of this, but possibly the number was engaged with a real emergency...

Big up to team Canada on their tandem, they were super strong.

When the BL bunch caught us (AL strugglers) there were a few hair raising moments but thankfully we all finished safely.

Was a little slower than last year :-(

Did just under 103km but I was seriously hoping it was 97km as the legs were finished at 90km.

We had a fight. A real one. Mixed group CL DL EL. Cruising along Rondebult at about 85 km mark . Two guys start bumping each other . One guy falls , other guy stops . Fists start flying. Both on the ground wrestling ,hitting. Group carried on . Don't know who won.

Nice race .
