Hi there,

Got the Fizik Tundra 2 together with my Giant Anthem but the thing is killing me on longer rides (perhaps I'm just a softie?).

Will it get "softer" in time or should I rather just bite the bullet and buy an alternative saddle? And if so, what good options would you recommend?

Regards and thanking you in advance.

Agreed. Fizik Tundra is crap hard. Had mine for 2 years and was in pain on every ride. Replaced it with a Specialized Avatar (R850) and haven't felt any discomfort since.

Go and have you sit bone measured, use that as a starting point then look at saddles that are the correct width for your sit bones.

+1

Saddles come in different widths, just like everyone's sit bones.

The Tundra is a narrow, hard flat saddle @ 125mm

Gobi is 130mm, but is nicely shaped

Antares is 142mm

Most Specialized saddles come in different widths.

So find a shop with an Assometer and choose an appropriate saddle.

I use a Gobi and sort of like it. Would love to try the Fizik Kurve range. They seem quite innovative and adjustable.

I've tried the Kurve range and 2 have broken seat bodies.

Not so happy as these were not cheapies, now on Antares and it seems fine, Gobi is good, maybe a bit heavy if you are a weight weenie
